Class Not Registered Error upon opening Admin

Featured Replies

I use ISY as my primary ZWave controller.  It's so stable and issue free that I don't pay any attention to it for months on end.  It just keeps on doing its job all by itself.

Today, I wanted to add a ZWave module and tried to open the Admin feature to do so and I get the "Class Not Registered" error message.  I can't get into the Admin feature at all.  I tried going in through several ways and keep getting the same problem.  Searching around the web with Google didn't give me anything I thought I could do to solve it.  I'm not a computer guru, so I don't even understand some of what was offered.

I use Chrome, but tried it in Edge with the same response.

Anybody got a simple solution to getting into the program?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Deane

Its no longer recommended to use a browser to launch the admin console. Most browsers block the java web start for security reasons. There's nothing insecure about the admin console, its more that many exploits use the java web start to attack computers, and many browser publishers no longer support it.

Instead, use the new ISY launcher. After you download it and run it the first time, it will create a blue "UD" icon. From here on out, use that icon to launch the admin console and do not use the browser.

Thanks for your response Paul.  I cleared the JAVA catch which didn't solve the issue.  However, in the process, I got the pop-up that my JAVA was out of date.  I installed the latest version and it solved the problem.  A little round about, but you got me in the right direction.  Thanks.
