insteon thermostat humidity status every minute

I have 3 insteon thermostats, 2 of them are set to cool mode now, and control 2 zones of single HVAC. According to the ISY log, humidity is being checked every minute on both thermostats. Seems like a lot of chatter?

The humidity update acts like a hearbeat that can be used to test for comm failures. Once per minute is nothing for ISY. Some input devices can send multiple updates per second.

I agree, it seems like a lot.  It ends up bloating your log.  And on the flip side, when it calls for cool, heat, or idle, it just sends a single message which on occasion is missed.  And that can be a big deal.  And you can't query it either since it isn't a status but rather a control command.

Thanks Larry, it may be comm failures. This thermostat has been acting oddly for a few weeks. I factory reset but it often is unresponsive to ISY. Nit sure what happened when since its been in use for 2 years, same as the other 2 I own. I am looking for alternative thermostats now since I ditched the Insteon hub for an ISY only control strategy.

well i continued my troubleshooting and confirmed the thermostat communication works fine while a 220 appliance is running. Odd only because nothing changed that I'm aware of. i have multiple dual band devices on both legs of my house so Im not suite sure where to go from here. Any suggestions on phase coupling? I can't seem to find the Insteon hard wired or plugin coupler available anywhere.

Most recommend the four tap phase identifier test. I have never used or needed it, so far fingers crossed). I have an old passive X10 phase coupler right close to my main panel and my PLM right beside it about 12" of wire further away from the main panel. I also have some dual band units close to the main panel on phases created by my inverters.
