smokegrub Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Trying to link a Dimmer Keypad (6-button) to my ISY. I have tried linking using New Insteon Device by typing in the device’s address. Didn’t work. I assume that is because the device is not in linking mode. I tried holding down button “a” (I saw a vague reference to that elsewhere). That didn’t work. Any help will be appreciated.
lilyoyo1 Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Is this your only insteon device? Did you power up your on and plug it into the ISY before powering up your Isy? What message are you getting? If you're using the device id, you don't have to hold down the set button

Only battery operated devices need to be put into linking mode prior to adding them to the ISY. Are you getting any error messages when you try to add it? Are you sure you're entering the correct address for the device? Make sure you use the Zero not the letter O if the address has one. You should also do a factory reset on the device prior to adding it to the ISY
smokegrub Posted September 19, 2018 Author Posted September 19, 2018 Please accept my apology, I incorrectly entered the device ID. I mistook a "B" for an "8"! This is the second time over several years that i have done that!
