beninsteon Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Hi, Now that notifications are available for Amazon echo devices, wondering if something similar is cooking for Google home? Maybe @bmercier has some insider knowledge? Thanks, Ben 1 Quote
bmercier Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Google Home routines at this time cannot be triggered by device states. I'm not aware of upcoming changes to this. Benoit Quote
MWareman Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 I can now see each room in my house getting an Alexa to sit right next to my Google Homes. And double the admin overhead as well...I know.....I have my Elk hooked up to several speakers for announcements currently. I should setup a single house-wide ‘announce only’ Alexa..... Quote

beninsteon Posted October 7, 2018 Author Posted October 7, 2018 I was thinking about getting echo devices for this reason also but I bet it's just a matter of time till Google enables announcements in it's API. Quote

kurelgyer Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 I'm thinking of just getting one or two Echo Dots for announcements only. I was a little confused briefly reading the wiki. To confirm: one ISY can send an announcement to multiple Echos, correct? Can you specify an Echo, or is the announcement broadcast to all? (I probably floated into the wrong topic category...) Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Hi @kurelgyer, Both. You can send to one or to all. With kind regards, Michel Quote
