Blackbird Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I get regular heartbeats from all my sensors, once every 24 hours but it does not always show up in the log. Any idea why? Thanks
kclenden Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Interesting. I don't have an answer for you, but my system does the same thing. Running 5.0.13C. My log has about 3-1/2 months of data and within it I see three heartbeats from my open/close switch that monitors my garage doors. They show up on 7/13, 8/18, and 9/06. So they're not evenly spaced being 36 days and 19 days apart. I have a set of programs running that alerts me if a heartbeat is missed, and I've only had a couple alerts over the last three months, so there should be way more heartbeats in my log.
Blackbird Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 Well hopefully they fix this in a future update. Thanks
Michel Kohanim Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 @Blackbird, Log only logs changes of state. Heartbeat never changes the state. With kind regards, Michel
kclenden Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 (edited) Thanks Michel. That makes sense. And I've been able to confirm that the heartbeat records in my log each appear the day after my ISY was rebooted (either by me or a power outage) or in other words on days where the heartbeat changed from OFF (because of the previous reboot) to ON. Blackbird Posted October 21, 2018 Author Posted October 21, 2018 Well that does make sense but cant Universal Devices make it so the ISY logs it if a heartbeat has been received, regardless of a change of state? Thanks
Michel Kohanim Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 All, A better way to address this issue is to have a program that sends an email when you do NOT get a heartbeat: If Control 'x' heartbeat is switched on Then Wait 24.5 hours Send Notification Else … nothing With kind regards, Michel
