io_guy Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 No, now just try running NodeLink again. The seg fault is a missing package. My Pi has a ton of crap already installed so clearly I need to add a package to the install script for a fresh install. Just trying to figure out which one(s). Quote

io_guy Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 Yep, next try sudo apt install libunwind8 Quote

io_guy Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 K, gimme a couple hours. I'll do a fresh install here and figure it out. Quote

io_guy Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 Hmm, I have a feeling your install is old (stretch). Install the latest buster lite. Quote

Sorry, my previous post about a new install incorrectly said it was stretch. its actually buster (lite, I believe, as I have no GUI) pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cat /etc/os-release PRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)" NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux" VERSION_ID="10" VERSION="10 (buster)" VERSION_CODENAME=buster ID=raspbian ID_LIKE=debian HOME_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/" SUPPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianForums" BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs" Quote
io_guy Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 I just did a lite install and ran the script, NodeLink started right up. Try deleting NodeLink.dll and rerunning the script. Maybe it's corrupt. Quote

Bare with me - what am I doing wrong with the command: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ rm /home/pi/node/NodeLink.dll rm: cannot remove '/home/pi/node/NodeLink.dll': No such file or directory Quote

I was resisting the idea because I didn't think the install would work if the card is faulty... Quote
io_guy Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 Tend to agree. Just had to replace my Pi SD card last week. Quote
Maresend Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Ok, will do tomorrow sometime. Thanks for your help with this! Quote
Maresend Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 (edited) So, got a brand new SD card, mounted the buster image and started up the pi. It ran through a bunch of stuff, for the last 45 mins or so it shows this: "[ OK ] Started Daily apt upgrade and clean activities" with a blinking cursor... Edited October 31, 2019 by Maresend Quote
Maresend Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 So even with the brand new SD card and several attempts, still getting segmentation fault. I'm thinking the Pi itself is somehow faulty. Its quite old and had been sitting in my garage for a couple years. I'll try a new one... Quote
Maresend Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Fired up a new Pi3 today, Nodelink started immediately after running your script so i'm up and running! Sorry for wasting your time with a bum pi io_guy and bumbershoot! Quote
Whitehambone Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Logged into NodeLink and seen this. Is this a problem with my internet connection, a update bug in v0.10.1, or is the server down? 2019-11-04 09:10:09 - Auto-Update: Error updating file: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. io_guy Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 Been seeing a few of those as well, I think the update server may be having some problems. Quote
glarsen Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) I just ran the install script manually and updated to 0.10.2 cleanly. Edited November 5, 2019 by glarsen Quote
io_guy Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 In 0.10.3 I'm adding a button to manually check for updates. Should be released this weekend. Quote
brians Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 I just moved over to a pi from a Windows 7 VM I have been using for a while...all went perfect - Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Buster Lite. I just copied over the config.xml (I also run Polyglot on it with no issues in case people want to know if can run both). Quote
apostolakisl Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Anyone running nodelink on Polisy? Quote

io_guy Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 Polisy is waiting for UDI. They are creating required packages to run NodeLink. I run it successfully but I enable the regular BSD repo and install the required packages. Quote
