SMTP timeout setting not saving on v2.7 ? Yahoo Mail

Featured Replies

Trying to get my SMTP working via my yahoo pop account. What I've noticed is that the SMTP time out setting does not appear to stay saved. I can change it from the default of 1,000MS to many other values and I can click Save. However when I exit and come back to the config window the timeout setting has returned to 1,000MS.

I have been able to sucessfully use the test gmail settings provided on the forum here. However whenever I try to use my yahoo account and click "test" the ISY just sits there w/o error appearing but the cursor stays stuck on an hour glass. If I close the browser window I can relogin fine.

The test GMAIL works

server: smtp.gmail.com

port: 587

user id: isyalerts@gmail.com

password: holamola

from: (leave blank)

TLS: checked

Yahoo both plus and nonplus give results above (hang):

plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Use SSL, port: 465,

user id: myyahooID

password: yahoomailpass

from: (leave blank)

TLS: tried checked and unchecked both

smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Use SSL, port: 587,

user id: myyahooID

password: yahoomailpass

from: (leave blank)

TLS: tried checked and unchecked both

checking in my LOG I see several entries of

Hello junkycosmos,

This feature is only available on 2.7.3 and above. Would you be kind enough to make sure you have 2.7.3 installed (Help | About).

With kind regards,

Michel

  • 1 year later...

It took a bit of experimenting but this finally worked for me setup like this...

SMTP Server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP Port: 587
User ID: yahooID
Password: yahooMailPassword
From: yahooID@yahoo.com
Timeout: 1000
TLS: unchecked

The port 465 may be blocked by the internet provider so that may be why its not working and 587 is. Here is Yahoo's help page.
