beninsteon Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Hi Just wanted to know if this device is compatible with nodelink https://www.amazon.ca/Mi-Light-Wireless-Controller-Compatible-Smartphone/dp/B01N9TPFPQ?th=1&psc=1

They are not WiFi compatible, despite what they imply or directly state. The bridging hubs are found on the same advert. The older hubs can only control 4 groups of devices. That means, four independent addresses and every bulb/device will respond together that uses the same address/group number. You could have 100 devices using the same group number. Some newer hubs will control eight devices. I am not sure about the newer vase style hub. I have two hubs and about 6 RGBWW controllers, and four MiLight RGBWW bulbs I have removed, if interested, I believe the NodeLink node services the older hubs. I did see a particular version it supported once but you would need to research that for polyglot or ask the NodeLink code writer here.
io_guy Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 It was wrote for a V4 bridge. Could modify to support V6 (latest) if there's demand.
beninsteon Posted May 2, 2019 Author Posted May 2, 2019 Is this the WiFi box? https://www.amazon.ca/Mi-Light-iBox2-Controller-Compatible-System-Not/dp/B01N7C3HXQ/ref=pd_sim_60_3/139-2162166-2391343?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01N7C3HXQ&pd_rd_r=8c853299-6c7a-11e9-8684-3ba914696e6d&pd_rd_w=75mVD&pd_rd_wg=JcssP&pf_rd_p=29a85b27-a36a-4f8d-94ca-61aa962c5f39&pf_rd_r=JVTPZ6P4G5B4PVT40D5B&psc=1&refRID=JVTPZ6P4G5B4PVT40D5B Will NodeLink control this one? I presume I need this and the LED controller that I posted above. It's surprising they don't make LED controller that connects to WiFi directly. Does NodeLink get two way communication from this? Will it report status (on/off/colour/etc) in the ISY console?

NodeLinc only knows what I last sent so if you changed a setting via the hand remote, or turned the power off it would not know the status.
wedel456 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 You can also get an emulator. They are MUCH cheaper and have more options when you need multiple. Learn more here: https://blog.christophermullins.com/2017/02/11/milight-wifi-gateway-emulator-on-an-esp8266/
io_guy Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 I'm gonna merge mine into my Pi soon: https://snt.sh/2014/09/limitlessled-wifi-bridge-4-0-conversion-raspberry-pi/

Make a great NodeLink option for sale.
