July 9, 20196 yr You have a communications problem between the PLM and your device. It could be due to noise on your powerline or that the two legs of your powerline are not bridged. Take a look at this article to resolve you issue: .https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors Click on the video below for more info
July 10, 20196 yr Author UPDATE... SUCCESS!! So, after some testing, i noticed that my two Access Points (2443) didn't have their LED lit. (I've had them for 2-3 years now) (My wife didn't like them hogging outlets anyways, so it's a bonus if i can get away without them now) So I pulled them, and was able to get the new ON/OFF OUTDOOR modules 2634-222 to link! I'm not 100% sure if this was the fix, but it could very well be. So the Access Points are now in the GARBAGE, and I've got tons of dual devices, so I'm hoping I don't need to bother with them anymore. Thanks for feedback. Fred
July 10, 20196 yr There were some issues with the older access points and they have since been discontinued. In the future if you see the need for range extenders you can use the plug-in on/off modules or the lamplinc dimmer. They are basically a range extender with an extra option.

Is there any reason ON/OFF OUTDOOR MODULE 2634-222 won't do the same job? (I like them more, as I find they fit in my spaces better)

July 11, 20196 yr The 2443 Hardware Version 2. Where built on the same base 2413 PLM main board and have the same power supply issues as the 2413S. Both of mine also died {no Green LED}. I rebuilt mine with the same parts we use to fix the failing PLMs we have.
July 11, 20196 yr Author Funny, my PLM is as old as the hills (2413S v2.1 1543) Am i just lucking out, or did they produce a good one at any point?)
July 11, 20196 yr There are bad plms and good. I'm still using an old plm for my test ISY years later
July 11, 20196 yr Author Good to know... i freaked a while back, and bought a spare, still sitting READY. Touch wood!
