New IP Address

Hello,

I changed ISP's and now have a new set of addresses in my network.  My old network was on the 10.0.0.x network and my new network is 192.168.1.x. I believe that I setup my ISY with a hardcoded IP address. My questions are:

     1. How do I change the IP address to the new network

     2. Where can I download the ISY Finder program

Thanks,

Cliff

Had the same problem, just going from the 192.168.x.x to 10.0.0.x.  Luckily I still had access to the old router.  Plug it in to your computer and connect the ISY.  From the ISY console access the configuration tab and in the network settings, place a check mark in the Automatic (DHCP) box.  Connect back to your new router and you should be able to access ISY.  Go back to the Network settings box and select your new fixed address.

I don't have the old router as the old ISP removed it.

I have the ISY launcher installed on my PC. Thats how I found out that I couldn't get to my ISY.

Anyone know where I can download the ISY Finder program?

How can I upgrade my ISY if I can't even get to my ISY through the admin console? And, why would I want to introduce a new version when I am having issue connecting to my current version. I just need to be able to change the IP address on my ISY so that it matches the network of my new router that was given to me by my ISP.

I can think of a few ways to get connected and control of your ISY.

  • Modify your router temporarily to the old IP address block range, edit ISY to DHCP option and then switch your router back to 192.168.x.y
  • Direct connect a cable between a laptop and ISY but you will need to set the IP address in the laptop to 10.x.y.z subnet address to match ISY's locked subnet address.
  • Factory reset you ISY and use Password/Password admin/admin for security. You will require a good backup to restore or you will lose.
  • Call support at UDI for remote access.

While using your old router, I'm guessing you set your ISY up with a fixed address.  Unfortunately your new router can not connect to your old fixed address.  Since you don't have access to your old router, check out a thrift store (Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul) in your area.  They usually have a selection of used routers that people donate when they upgrade.  Just check the name tag to ascertain it addresses to 10.0.x.x.

On Windows machines, you can add a secondary IP address to the network stack - so your computer can communicate on either IP network.

Then, use the old IP to access the ISY with the Admin Console, then logon and Change the IP of ISY.
