Can you please copy/paste the node server log?

With kind regards,

Michel

It’s says provisioning node and it may take several minutes. Nothing happens so I stop and start node and get the messages in the right hand corner about them being successful but the log has no entries.

Try going into configuration tab on PGC Ring NS, there should be a blue highlighted area for entering your ring credentials.  It was hard to see but the word HERE is underlined to click on.  Don't change anything in the Admin console NS settings.

Okay it just worked. There were different boxes when I clicked on configuration and then the large blue band displayed with click here displayed. It never got to this point in multiple attempts before. Looks to be working

The node server added Ring in slot 3. There are no nodes in device listing. Do I add each desired node (doorbell, Doorbell Ding, Doorbell Motion) including  giving them a  node and primary node address? If so is there a naming convention for these nodes?

Do you still need log

No. Go to details in the Ring nodeserver and restart it.

You don't add anything.  All you do is link your ring account, that is done on PGC cloud, click on details on Ring NS dialog box, then click on configuration and there should be a blue Highlighted line that tell you to link your account by clicking here.  The first time I installed it a few weeks ago, I had to delete it and reinstall it, picked a different slot, and then I got the account linking notifiction.

Yes, I would try that next.

Okay I've got two Nodes and the device is a Ring Doorbell Pro name Front Door.  The nodes are Front Door and Front Door Motion.  Does that sound right?  Don't have time to look at programs and see if they have support for ringing the bell and motion being detected but it sound reasonable they would.

Thanks

I've got one main and two sub nodes now and they appear as program control for Ding and Motion.  I''ll try out this weekend.

Thanks for the assistance.

Does that sound right?  Yes this correct.

Don't have time to look at programs and see if they have support for ringing the bell and motion being detected but it sound reasonable they would. Programs do support the doorbell ringing and doorbell motion. Be sure to select "Control" in your program.

I'll defer back to @TomL, I was suggesting debugging ideas based on the same symptoms setting up other nodeservers

Thanks to all for the assistance.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm looking at trying to get the same thing going.  ISY running 5.0.15 is connected to the portal and I can get into the Polyglot cloud and see that the portal NS is there (Current Status: Unmanaged). Added the Ring NS from the Store but it reports Current Status: Disconnected and I don't get anything under Details > Configuration for logging into Ring. I see Ring in the list of Node Servers (slot 3) in the admin console. What am I missing?

1. Regarding OpenWeatherMap.org: it takes about one day for your registration with OpenWeatherMap.org to go into effect. It will show disconnected during that time but will later connect automatically.

2. But why is the OpenWeatherMap.org discussion contained in a Ring Polyglot Cloud discussion thread? Shouldn't there be a separate discussion thread for OpenWeatherMap.org or for simply Polyglot?
