smarthome_newbie Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Hi. I am using Polyglot cloud for now, but will get Polisy in October. Are there some easy to follow instructions for how to connect my Insteon devices and create scenes in the admin console? Also, what is PLM for and do I need it?
MWareman Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 PLM = Power Link Modem.It’s the device that connects to ISY using the serial protocol and translates (modulates) the Insteon protocol onto powerline signals to be sent to and from Insteon devices. Without it, ISY cannot talk to Insteon devices.

Brian H Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 If you have a few X10 devices still in your system. Like I do. The PLM also sends and receives X10 messages on the power line.
