Installed 8 button dimmer keypad with fan as load

I know it is supposed to be a dimmer, but it's working fine.  Will this cause any harm?  It's just a normal fan with no light.  Thanks!

Got it.  Is there an 8 button on/off keypad, or is that only available in an on/off 6 button keypad?

The relay is only available in 6 button but can be reconfigured to be an 8 button.

If all you need is on/off control of the fan, I would put a micro module relay in the fan and link it to the dimmer keypad

It’s a DC motor for one of the fans so the Insteon fan controller won’t work. That’s what I was told.

Something controls the DC motor control circuitry. If there is multiple inputs to that circuitry, from a switch or relay, an Insteon solution should work.

The fanlinc won't work in regards controlling the fan itself. However there is AC power going to the fan so a micro relay would work for on/off only control

One of those true oddities of life.  So then you have to buy the 8 button button change kit too.  Only problem is, it doesn't seem to be available in white.  ?
