Network unreliable after PLM replacement

I've been running an ISY (originally 99, now 499) for at least 10 years, and it's generally been very reliable.   Recently I replaced my PLM after it stopped communicating, and after doing a restore on it, found a bunch of devices not working.    One by one, I did restore devices on them, and things got a little better, but I found that many scenes did not work, and I was able to get them working only by removing all devices from them and then re-adding the devices.      Tedious, and somewhat error prone, as I have a lot of scenes to manage KPL buttons as well as the typical ones; I've been doing this as I notice scenes that aren't working correctly.

I also seem to not be getting updates when devices change state, although as I write this, I'm wondering if it's actually a scene problem, as I use KPL buttons as status indicators, I've just come back from a trip, and need to reacquaint myself with all of this issues that are going on.

I had nothing like this several years ago when I replaced a PLM; is there something other than updating all of the scenes and restoring all of the devices (~ 35) that I should try?   Is it possible I have .a bad PLM?

My last backup is several months old, but I doubt much has changed during that time.   I'll give it a try.
