andrew77 Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 it does. the console shows the % of bright and dim etc... I just can't seem to get the timers and programs back. The scenes can be triggered from the KPLs etc... Drew
MikeB Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Can you give me an example of a timer program you have that is not working? Right-click the program, choose Copy To Clipboard, and paste it into a post.
andrew77 Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 I just deleted and re-wrote a timer and it works. My programs aren't running though. When I press a KPL button or SWL to trigger a program, it doesn't work. The KPLs DO trigger scenes as long as they don't involve a program. Should I re discover the devices? Drew
MikeB Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 No, I would not do anything like that. So, a timer is a Program, so some of your programs are working - but not others. Can you copy/paste in an example of a program that is not working?
andrew77 Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 If Status 'Bathroom' is Off And Control 'Bathroom' is switched Off Then Set 'Bathroom' 30% Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') That's a SWL.
MikeB Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 OK, so basically if your bathroom switch is OFF, and you press the paddle down (effectively turning it OFF again), then the ISY should turn that same switch on to 30% - correct? So, here are a few questions: 1 - if you turn the switch ON, does the Admin Console show it as ON? 2 - if you turn the switch back OFF, does the Admin Console then show it as OFF? 3- if you press the switch OFF again, does the light turn on to 30%? 4- if not, what does the Admin Console show for the status of the light - still OFF, or 30%? 5- after this, what does the last run time of this program show?
andrew77 Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 It shows its on when its switched on It shows it as off when its off When I press it off again while its off the light does nothing and the console shows it as off The console doesn't show it as run If it helps, this next scene doesn't run either and The G button is a non toggle off so the LED should go off when I press it. The program doesn't run and the LED stays on even though the console still says its in non toggle mode. If Control 'Deck KPL G All Off and NightS' is switched Off Then Wait 2 seconds Set Scene 'Nighttime' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
MikeB Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 It shows its on when its switched on It shows it as off when its off When I press it off again while its off the light does nothing and the console shows it as off The console doesn't show it as run As a test, can you try deleting and recreating this program exactly as you had it before? - delete the program - save changes - recreate the program - save changes Then re-run he above tests? If it helps, this next scene doesn't run either and The G button is a non toggle off so the LED should go off when I press it. The program doesn't run and the LED stays on even though the console still says its in non toggle mode. Sounds like you have 2 different problems. The keypad button is somehow in a non-toggle ON state. I would set the switch to toggle mode, then turn OFF the button, then re-set it to non-toggle mode. The issue with the program not running is probably related to your other issue, so let's focus on that. Thanks
andrew77 Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 I'm unfortunately at work now so I'll try doing that tonight when I get home. Let's hope it works. Do you have an idea of what's going on? I something just locked up somehow? Drew
andrew77 Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 Hi MikeB; I tried deleting, saving, reprogramming, and saving a program and still no luck. If I have to redo everything I don't mind. I'm just not sure how to do that. Drew
MikeB Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Hi Andrew - Try adding a WAIT command within the program and please let me know if it helps. Like this: If Status 'Bathroom' is Off And Control 'Bathroom' is switched Off Then Wait 2 Seconds Set 'Bathroom' 30% Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Then, please try reverseing the Control and Status lines, like this: If Control 'Bathroom' is switched Off And Status 'Bathroom' is Off Then Set 'Bathroom' 30% Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Please let me know the results both ways. Thanks
andrew77 Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 I'll try it tonight when I get home but I'm not very hopeful. It worked before the way I typed it. That and none of my programs work. Drew
MikeB Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Please give those a try and let me know your results. I believe you have at least one of your timer programs working, correct?
andrew77 Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 Hi Mike; Sorry for not getting to the new programs yet. Things at work are hectic. The timer that I have working is a brand new test timer that didn't exist before. Another note, I havew V.2.7.3 and have noticed that 2.7.6 is in BETA. Should I try to upgrade that one? If I remember correctly, I had this problem before and we didn't get to the heart of it. I'm pretty sure I just redid everything. I know that's not the best scenario as I won't learn how to get out of this issue, but it's still something I don't mind doing if it comes to that. Drew
MikeB Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Hi Drew - I'm not sure just re-doing everything will fix your issue, which is why I'd like to try these final tests. I feel like something simple is wrong. If both tests still fail I think you should file a trouble ticket with us and one of our techs can try to assist remotely and see what's going on. 2.7.3 is a beta firmware as well. I would recommend upgrading to the latest beta, 2.7.6. Thanks!
andrew77 Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 I'll try them tonight. I'll also update the firmware. We tried the remote assist once and it didn't go well as I have satellite internet here in the boonies and it's next to impossible to get through their modem. Drew
andrew77 Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 I've updated to the latest version for the ISY, and tried both programs that you've suggested. Nothing so far. But... I added a SWL today and linked it to the ISY. I created a simple program for it and it ran fine. I think I remember how I fixed this problem before. I removed each device and re-linked them one by one to the console. Drew
Illusion Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 PLEASE do not do that!! I am watching this thread and am desperate to find out the real issue. Even if redoing everything works, it masks the problem you are having.
andrew77 Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 I'd like to find out the real issue too as this is the second time this has happened. And redoing all the devices is a few days of linking and redoing the scenes and programs and timers. Hopefully the fix is coming soon. But I have a half working lighting system right now and it's a little awkward to not have it when you're used to it. Drew
MikeB Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Hi Drew - Unfortunately, I think I have to pass you to our support department. If you'd like to spend a bit more time troubleshooting, please fill out a trouble ticket here: http://www.universal-devices.com/supp_contact.htm So far the issue doesn't make sense to me: - devices are showing in Admin Console - status changes accurately when devices are controlled manually - programs are not triggering based on the status of the device I know you had issues with remote support due to your internet connection before, but perhaps it would work better this time. Please let me know how you make out. Thanks
Illusion Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Drew, Please post back what the issue was once you get it resolved as I would like to know.
