Polisy Down

Well, things were working well with my new Polisy but sometime this evening, it stopped working.  Web page is not responsive, however, I can SSH into the Polisy.  I did the procedures described in the Wiki for upgrading and corrupted database, but this did not fix it.  It beeps more often than it should upon reboot.  Any ideas on how to resurrect?

I am able to get to the Polisy web page in another browser - for some reason, Firefox won't go there (new certificate?) but the login has reverted to the default.  My node servers are there, but don't appear to be working, or configured.  I can't find any way to delete them or re-configure them.  Also, cannot change the login to what I was previously using as don't see a way to do that either.  Unfortunately, I haven't recently backed up.  Am I going to have to re-install and configure everything?  Not happy with the Polisy at this point.

UPDATE: it appears to be in a messed up state - cannot uninstall or delete any node servers, nor get them out of the "unmanaged" state.  Cannot find a way to change my login from the default either.  Nor can I find a way to wipe the Polisy clean.  Have opened up a ticket because this is truly beyond my imagination at this point.

Well, deleting the database is probably responsible for the issues you're having with nodeservers (and Firefox, too, as I think certificates come from the database). I'll also bet dollars to doughnuts that you're going to have to, at the very least, re-install your nodeservers because of that.

If you're unsure of what you should do at this point, it might be safe to assume that you're going to have to start from scratch.  I'd start with option 2 (two clicks of the reset button) in the link below to at least get the updates and a new database, but be prepared to factory reset the Polisy if this doesn't bring you back to life.  It might just be easier/quicker/safer to factory reset and move on rather than fussing around at the command line.

Or, you could open a support ticket with UDI: support@universal-devices.com

Good luck!

Do I have to delete them from the ISY?

I suspect that's what you're going to have to do.

One question though: if you have access to the command line on you Polisy, can you tell if you have any nodeservers present in the directory '/var/polyglot/nodeservers'?  This command should get an answer if you're not familiar with using the command line: ls -altF /var/polyglot/nodeservers/

Yes the 4 local node servers each have a folder in there.

I tried deleting the Rachio nodeserver from the ISY and it still won't go away from the dashboard.  I rebooted the ISY.  The Rachio node server still appears in a drop down list under node servers.

Should I try deleting the nodeserver folders referenced above?  Obviously at this point, I am looking for a way to go back to a factory reset configuration and I will just re-configure everything and back it up this time.

Since the nodeserver folders are still present on your Polisy, you might try something (I don't know if it will work, however).  On you Polisy web page, go to the NodeServers | Add NodeServer menu, and see if there's anything listed under the "Available Node Servers" button.  If there is (say your Rachio), select it and select the same slot (if available), and "Submit".  It might work...  If it does, you might get out of the woods relatively easily.

I did try that - unfortunately, can't select node server slots 1-5 where all node servers were installed.

You might try to install it in an unused slot.  I don't think the slot matters at all to the nodeserver.

EDIT:  You might start reading beginning with this post if you want to clear those slots.  This may work to do that, though I have no idea what state your database is in:
