Device/Scene folders in web interface

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded to 2.7.6 and have now grouped all of my scenes into a few folders which makes navigating in the admin console much easier. However, the web interface still just shows one long list for devices and scenes. i.e. It doesn't show the folders. Are there plans to add the folders to the Devices and Scenes sections similar to what's currently in the Programs section? I have a lot of devices and scenes and having to scroll through the whole list is a pain when using devices with small screens like netbooks, PDAs, etc.

Thanks

Hi grog,

Yes, you are 100% correct and that's indeed in the list of requirements to accomplish. May I ask what PDA you use?

With kind regards,

Michel

Great news, thanks Michel.

My main PDA is a BlackBerry Bold. It has a pretty good browser and screen and works well with the ISY web interface, it's just a lot of scrolling with my current setup. :) I currently only use it locally over WiFi (I don't expose my ISY to the Internet).

I also have an older HP iPAQ which works well too.

Hi grog,

I love bold and hate my own storm ...

The reason I asked the question was because we were thinking (and still thinking) of beautifying the HTML interface.

With kind regards,

Michel

I think any improvements to the web interface would be very welcomed simply because it is universally accessible. These days virtually every device that has Internet access has a web browser built-in so they have immediate access to the ISY without any special agent or software. The more you can do via the web interface the more useful the ISY becomes.

Hi grog,

I totally agree. We are experimenting with a few client side rich UI browser agnostic technologies. We just have to settle on the minimum features that we want supported and the mobile phones we want to support.

With kind regards,

Michel
