I'd love to, but I've never gotten v5 to work. V4 works just fine, and lets me do everything I need to do. I've already spent too much time on the UI thing, now I just want to get the Inovelli switch to work, as that's the only issue I have with my ISY right now.

I have several red series Inovelli as well and they mostly work fine. This being said, the pro of Inovelli is that they have innovative devices, the con is that they have different protocols for including/excluding and performance is not always 100 %.

As an example, I use an Inovelli switch in a 3-way and every so often the switch stops working, and then I need to to power cycle (fuse off/on) the switch to get it to work again. I have an Inovelli motion sensor that hardly works and I have no idea how to resolve.

A huge pro of Inovelli is the switch that does not need Neutral. I have a switch box where it is practically impossible to get a Neutral wire and the Inovelli switch was the solution.

Now coming back to ISY V5.  If you have issues with making V5 work, then contact UDI Support. Their support is superb and they don't rest until your issue is resolved. With V5, then go for Polisy and your Home Automation will never be the same.

Okay, so I've been screwing around with trying to make the v5 UI work, to no avail. I've done the Java thing, IcedTea, two different computers, one of which is less than a year old. v5 will not load past the ISY finder screen on either computer.
I also decided to try adding a couple of new GE smart plugs. Whether I try and add them as secure or not, they get found, show up in console, with an error that says "Not Implemented". I was also able to get the Inovelli switch to include, and it showed the dimmer, 3 buttons, and the power usage. The only thing that worked was the power usage, the buttons and dimmer gave me the "Not Implemented".
I'm beginning to suspect it may be an issue with my ISY at this point. I have a bunch of Insteon devices that work just fine, it's just trying to add anything ZWave or use UI v5 that I can't do. Have there been any bugs with the ISY hardware or the included firmware?

@seattlestexan,

"Not Implemented"  is a sign that your UI is not correct. Also, forum is not tech support. If you do need tech support, please either submit a ticket with relevant information or send an email to support@universal-devices.com. Please do NOT post a reference to the forum. We do not have the resources to read 5 pages of back and forth.

Thank you.

With kind regards,
Michel

I apologize, I have not read the entire thread (skimmed the last couple pages).  But, I believe you are using IcedTea java.  I have had limited success using the Launcher in Ubuntu, regardless with IcedTea or JRE.  However, I don't seem to have any issue using the direct admin.jnlp under either.  If you are using 5.3.1, download the admin.jnlp here:

Well, that doesn't help when I can't make v5 UI work. As I said in the post before yours, I've been on two computers today trying to get one of them or the other to run v5, with no luck. But since this sounds like a "call tech support or get lost"... Have a nice evening.

You are being unfair. Don't make this  an ego-something by insisting to resolve your problem in the forum when superb technical support is at your disposal.

However, once the issue is resolved with technical support, then you may wish to share the solution on the forum.

You aren't the only one in need. Posting on a forum is a bad place for technical support. The time it takes going back and forth (along with dealing with a multitude of other stuff) is time consuming. A forum is good for quick support but when undivided attention is required, yes you need to call it in.

By using the proper support channels, UDI can keep track of issues and possible fixes. They also can take the necessary time to get you where you want to be.

It's akin to having a complicated conversation over the phone or via text. If you pick up the phone and call, you can accomplish in 10 minutes what it may take an hour to do if you text
