eero pro integration

I can't seem to get my isy994 to connect thru my network after replacing the modem from an apple extreme to an eero pro. I've reset the isy994 and still not getting internet to it. Other wired devices are showing up on the eero mobile app but, not the ISY994. What am I missing? The gateway from ATT feeds internet to the eero pro then the wired devices are connected to a Linksys 8 port switch. Then the ISY994 is connected to the switch.

Are you connected to AT&T U-Verse? Possibly this article may apply:  https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/208276903-How-do-I-bridge-my-eeros-

Other things to check:

1. Are the lights on the Linksys switch port connected to ISY flashing?  What is the lED pattern on the ISY?

2. Did your ISY previously have a static IP or was this assigned by DHCP? If the IP was static, is it in the same range as the addresses that your other working devices are receiving? This may be worth looking into. The information online is sketchy but it seems the default DHCP scope for Apple may be 192.168.1.x/24 while the eero may be 192.168.0.x/24. If your ISY somehow had a 192.168.1.x address, you would not be able to reach it from the eero.

One thing to try is to connect a laptop/desktop to the Linksys. Give the computer a static IP that was in the same range as ISY when it was working. Open the ISY Launcher and see if it can be discovered.

Good luck

I don't remember if I did set a static IP or left it DHCP. Right now all I get is the error light flashing and I've done the reset procedure but, it won't go into the factory reset mode to reformat the sd card. I just don't think I'm able to connect to it. If you have another suggestion, I would appreciate it.

Kind of off topic but I did figure out a way to POE the eero pros if you ever have the need.  The eero folks say "pro installers only" and quoting huge dollar amounts.  It took a lot of experimentation with power plug adapters and cables to find the right ones.  And I am talking about the original eero pros, not the USB C versions.  I needed a lot of them for a lake property so it was a lot less expensive to go gen 1 off eBay.  (1) Pro off eBay + POE splitter + adapter way under $100.

I'm wondering if there is something  wrong with my isy994. I've held the reset button in for over a minute and the lights do what the instructions say but, when it comes back on, the power, tx and rx are lit solid and the error light is flashing. I have also reset the PLM and it has a green light.I don't see that sequence listed anywhere. I had taken a hit from lightning about a month ago that took out my ATT Gateway, the Apple extreme tower and an airport express. I'm pretty sure it came in on the ATT lines which, have to be direct without any kind of line conditioning. The home system and all programs were working as usual and I could bring up the administration page and turn on and off lights for the last month. I had a 6 button switch stop working except thru the software and was able to reset it and reprogram it using the saved data file. I replaced my old pancake extreme with the eeros since, I use them when working with a home theater installer and they do a great job of covering the houses with wifi.  I am continuing to read up on what information is available but, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

When you plug the ISY Series Controller to the new router do you see a link light in the rear of the controller?!? If so, once the system has connected to the network do you see traffic whereby the LED's blink? Some basic trouble shooting I would follow is check the first two items I listed out. Go into the router and verify you don't see the MAC address for the controller which is printed on the bottom.

Next, I would connect the controller to a computer system using a cross over cable. Assuming the controller is set to DHCP and you make the appropriate changes in the network connection tab. I would expect to see the NIC on both the computer and controller indicate status and traffic. If the controller shows up ping the controller and see if it replies.

Thank you. I do not get a light on in the back of the isy. On the ethernet cable, I only get one light come on solid and it doesn't blink at the isy but, only one on at the switch will blink with the other device's cables plugged into the switch. I have replaced the switch and all the cables. The mac address doesn't show up in the router's list for the ATT gateway or the eero pro. I am going to plug in into the old router and see what I can glean from that and if it will communicate with it. Thank you for your input.

One thing you could also try is set the switch to 10 / 100 vs 1000 - if supported. Some network appliances won't be visible if set to 1000 but in the case of the ISY Series Controller that is a slim chance.

But, worth trying out . . .

My home is small enough that even with the concrete walls, I get a good signal throughout. Now in the larger homes that I work in for a home theater and lighting company, we use the eero pro almost exclusively. I have thrown in some things to make it hard such as, Apple airport expresses to send music through the house. That will most likely change as these die, slowly over time I hope. Thank you again.

SO, a new development. I can only see the isy a short time before it disappears and it doesn't show up on the eero connected devices. Any thoughts out there with eero users? I have used wifi and wired and it shows up for an instant but, not long enough for me to load up the GUI. I am going to question eero support also but, they have been very vague with any answers.

Was this via direct connection and no switch? Have you tried using a switch where you can force it to negotiate at 10 /100? As a hell merry I would take the controller off site and connect to someone else network to see if there is any difference. If the off site network still can't ping, and connect to the controller it sounds like the NIC is given up the ghost!

This assumes the controller is in fact still set to DHCP . . .

I have been able to connect with the ISY and got the IP address from it, also it is in DHCP. I did this with the old pancake extreme. It now will connect to the eeros for a second after I reset it or the eero. The lights on the front are all off except for occasional communications and it is on the eero network. I can see it for a second, enough for hte admin console to lock the URL but, then it goes away just as fast. When I first connected I was able to reload my programs and settings but, I saved it twice, restarted it and now it won't stay connected or bring up the GUI, just the admin console. I've got a ticket going on eero but, they are so vague about any answers they give me. I'm realizing how much ao don't know about networking. According to an article that gviliunas sent me I have set my eero to bridge mode which is how I ran the airport extremes before. The ISY doesn't show up on the devices list of the eero so, I just don't know which side of the coin the problem exists.

If you review the UDI WiKi confirm this isn’t due to a firewall / antivirus related issue.

I am not sure I am following this correctly. I have just a few Eero's at home and my ISY is not plugged into the ethernet jack on any of the Eero's (if I understand you right) I can try that if you wish?  My ISY and first Eero are directly ethernet connected to my main switch which is connected to my Centurylink DSL router.  I have not put that router into bridge mode to hand off DHCP duties to the eero, in fact I still have an auxiliary air conditioner (Kuhl) on the Centurylink router's wifi because it was such a pain enrolling it the first time.  As it is I like my setup the way it is but may try full eero DHCP mode up at the lake this year.  But, if you want me to try anything with my setup for your verification I am willing.

I have one eero pro. I am having issues with getting the eero to see the ethernet devices. IE: The apple tv ethernet will drop to the ethernet connection and go to the wireless. I still haven't been able to get the eero to see my ISY994i over ethernet along with other hard wired devices. I haven't been able to return to this problem but it was suggested to check with the firewalls and security built into the eero pro. This maybe where the fault lies.

Thank you for your help.
