Garage door opener receiver

This is going to be difficult to describe but here's what I'm hoping to do.  My car has a programmable Homelink button (like most new cars) and I can program it to open common garage doors.  Instead if it opening a garage door though, I want it to trigger a program within the ISY.  IOW, when I arrive home and activate the "garage door opener" in my car, instead of a garage door responding, a program within the ISY runs.  Is this possible and if so, what do I need?

Thanks!!

It all depends on what your Homelink feature in your car can learn. You take a handheld remote control, put it very close to the Homelink unit in your car, put Homelink into learn mode and maybe/hopefully it will learn a command from your remote when you press a button on the remote control. I know it can learn X-10 commands. Maybe it can learn Insteon commands from one of those tiny insteon remote controls. Then it depends on whether that command being sent from your car can be received by your insteon network in your house. If it can you can write any program you want in the ISY.

Insteon does not work with homelink. There are ways with x10. What exactly do you have in mind as there may be other ways to accomplish what you're trying to do

My car has a feature that automatically engages Homelink within a certain distance to my home.  I have a program on my ISY that does multiple things and I currently use my phone to activate this program through Mobilinc but I have to open the phone and open the Mobilinc app then press the program button.  I'd like to have the car run this program automatically.  BTW, the car is a Tesla and I'm also trying to figure out if I can accomplish the same thing through a node.

Mitch236 did you find a way to link your car Homelink buttons to house lights?  I have the same request that is to use one of the 3 available car Homelink buttons to turn on the outside lights.  I am using an Insteon model 2342-2 Mini Remote now.  Have tried without success to link the Homelink button in Learn Mode using  the Mini Remote.  Maybe there is a Homelink Poly?

Homelink uses X10 310MHz RF frequency. So the 2342-222 Mini Remote can not directly control Insteon modules. As Insteon is 915MHz.

May be the remote could trigger an Insteon program or scene. The ISY994i and PLM can do X10 power line not RF.

Can't say  about the Homelink Poly.
