Sensing Status of Switchlinc

I use Amazon's Echo to operate Switchlinc to turn off and on the light. If I use the switch, a scene is run. However, the scene is not run if I have Echo operate the switch. How can I have it both ways without having to call a scene in both cases. I'm not really clear how and when (triggered?) programs run to check the state of a switchlinc.

If you want to do things properly, add the scene and not the device to Amazon. Simply label it a light in the portal.

The issue I have with passing a scene vice the device is that I cannot dim the light with the Echo. Is there an example of how this could be accomplished?

Answered my own question learning elsewhere that ISY scenes can be interpreted as lights when ISY makes them discoverable by Echo. Whoa, this solves a bunch of issues that I had using the Insteon Hub! However, in using Echo, it appears that I can only use "Dim" and "Brighten" and not "set den light to 50." Am I missing something?

It takes awhile to set up, but i use programs to accomplish exactly what you're asking for.  See this post.

Yep, that's the answer. A bit of a pain to initially set up but, it does exactly what I want. Thanks for your help!

To speed setup, after you have the first up and going use "Copy Folder" and then rename the folder appropriately.  And then edit programs to change devices.  I find that to be much faster when setting up multiple similar objects.
