iSY994 - No Power Light

Featured Replies

Hi folks.  My iSY Power Light (the blue one on the far left) is no longer lit.  Is this a symptom of a problem?  The only thing that I notice isn't working reliably is the device webserver (via a remote connection).  Many times I have to reboot the iSY in order to restore the webserver function.

Also, what is the warranty on the iSY (bought from SmartHome if that matters)?  This one is only about 18 months old.

Try a different power supply.

There have been reports here of this problem. There are a few message threads here on the same problem you are having. If your old supply has a LED on it. It may not be On or is very dim.

I have had three power supplies fail. On various models I have used over the years.

ISY994i has a wide voltage range it can use. 5 to 30 Volts DC Center connection is +. Mine where all 5 volt ones. Many here have used 12 volt ones and UDI sells a replacement in their store. 12 volts 1 amp.

Thanks for the suggestions about the power supply.  I actually had a spare 12V power supply with the right connector and polarity.  Upon trying it, however, the iSY power light still does not light.  The iSY is still functioning ok as best I can tell, but the web server function can take a while to drop off.

Any ideas about the iSY power light LED?  Could it just be a bad LED?  Or maybe an indicator of a looming problem?

Hardware issue.

The LED is driven right from the ISY994i's internal power supply. So the LED itself or the current limiting resistor are the most likely candidates. If everything else seems to be OK. It may just be a LED failure.
