Good evening.  

I had some trouble with zwave network.  wiped and started again.

updated to 5.3.1.  

I have 4 aeotec sirens and 2 aeotec switches to get a good mesh.  6 months ago it was a great mesh, with all sirens seeing each other.  

I have 9 schlage BE469ZP's and 6 aeotec trisensors.  isy has 500 board in it.  all devices are zwaveplus

when I wiped to restart, all the aeotec devices were excluded relatively easily.  The locks would not cooperate so they were "removed" and then factory reset.  then factory reset the isy dongle.  

all hardware is in the exact locations as before.  the sirens all see each other again, and the locks are in between them. 

I cannot get the locks to be included again.  I have moved a siren to put on a cord literally on the door handle, still no deal.  

I feel like I'm not including the locks properly.  Have tried 2 methods:

1-push the include/exclude button inside the back cover.  this gives flashing led for X seconds, then it turns red w beep.  X on front keypad also displayed.

2-on keypad, hit schlage button, then programming code, then 0.  same flashing light for X seconds, then red beep.  

I have spent the past couple hours looking at these forums and am not seeing a solution.  

Thoughts?

I can add the trisensors at the exact same location as the locks.  I realize that's not 100% same as the lock, but feels like a good indication that there is adequate RF signal...

have you tried resetting the lock?

Yes. Did this as part of the wipe and begin anew. Also tried a couple additional times. 
 

somewhere I read that if you unplug and replug the battery, the Schlage light inside will blink if it thinks it’s included in a zwave network. It did not blink. 

I had trouble with mine, as well.  I think I ended up removing the locks from the door and moved close to the ISY.  Excluding and factory reset of the locks was a necessary step, as well.  Once included, I have reinstalled on door and it has been solid ever since.

My working theory is that z-wave repeaters, for some reason, are not effective for including this particular lock.  Maybe there needs to be a stronger signal for include/exclude operations than for routine open/close.

These locks are picky .. I ended up getting a bunch of Dome extenders as one of the few extenders they play nice with.

I also would recommend removing the lock and moving it to within 3 feet of the ISY. Do an exclude prior to adding the lock. 

I chose to put my ISY on an extension Cord, a long ethernet cable, and a long ethernet cable to the PLM.  Then, brought the ISY as close as possible to each of my four BE469ZP locks to include wehn I rebuilt my Z-Wave network under 5.3,.0.

Yes.  This is the solution.  

As WFP says, extension cords are in use as this is easier than moving locks.

In my case, I found moving the lock to be easier, but the effect is the same...get them close to each other.
