jwagner010 Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 In some instances I use Programs to turn on devices as I require the program to do a number of 'checks' before turning on the device. When adding a Program to the favorites dashboard it would be nice if we could show the status of the device that the program is turning on or off next to the Program itself. For example, if I have a program called 'Ceiling Fan' and add that program to the favorites dashboard, when setting up the Program called 'Ceiling Fan' as a favorite it would be nice to be able to select the device to show as status on or off against that program on the favorites screen. I know I could just put the Device itself under the program as a favorite, but given I don't want to turn the device on unless the program does the checks I would prefer not to have the device itself on the favorites screen. Not sure if others have a need for something like this, and I am sure it would be low on the priority list but wanted to put it out there for consideration. That and geo fence would be awesome !!!! @Javi Appreciate the time on this app, finally something that works with node servers, awesome job.
asbril Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 For my purpose, the App is now perfect. The Favorites show the % of each Scene, and my case I use a Scene for each room and the display now shows me a % to indicate if lights are on in that room. If I want know more (and possible switch On or Off lights) I just click on the Scene and all the devices show with the options to change status. Very nice. 2

I believed that my comment was appropriate in the category of UD Mobile and Favorites. Creating a new category for each and every comment does not seem right to me, but I understand your feeling that my comment was not a reply to yours. Hopefully a solution will be found for your specific suggestion. 1

If you're opening up the app to turn something on or off, you want to verify if it's on or off prior to doing said action? Just trying to understand the logic.
asbril Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Now that I think of it, why not create a Scene with the Ceiling Fan and add the Scene to Favorites. That should give either 0 (zero) or 100 % showing you whether the device is On or Off.
Javi Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Hi @jwagner010, While the following is not the exact solution you are looking for, it is very similar. Enable program status at startup, Settings Tab > Systems > Your ISY > Advanced. Now you will have the status of your program at app startup. The Program Toggle works as follows: If program is not running, the toggle button will RUN IF. If programs is running (then or Else), the toggle button will STOP the program. Note: You must select "Status" as the visible control for the toggle to be present in Favorites. 2
stevesreed Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 With the release today, I can reorder the status on the node page, which is awesome. Can the status line under the node name on the favorites page be the status I've placed at the top of the node page? Currently for my Quikset lock (garage Interior Door) it shows the battery level on the favorites page, but I've made the locked status the top entry on the node screen. The Schlage (Front Door) lock does show the locked status, already, and I'd like them to match.

Currently there is no way to edit the current favorite but you could delete it and add a new one. During selection of the new favorite select whichever status value you would like to see on the Favorites page. 1
apostolakisl Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 @Javi Enjoying the continued new features on UD Mobile. I am using the "command" function for favorites and very much like it. My concern is that it is easy to "butt dial" or "fat finger" a command. My suggestion would be to allow for "2 step" activation where you click once then it says "are you sure" and you click again. Perhaps this is an option when you set it up. I am also a bit confused on using this. To use a command favorite, I set up a regular favorite first, then add the command function. I am a little confused about this in that the original favorite and associated node doesn't seem to necessarily be tied to the ultimate command. Am I missing something?

A command without a display node would cover most use cases as the Display Node is optional. Removal of Display Node is still on the list, so if one was added simply delete the favorite then create a new favorite without a Display Node by selecting "New Favorites Command". Adding a Display Node to a command is useful in the following scenarios: #1 Sensors which do not have controls (i.e. Door Sensors or Power Sensors). For example, setting a power toggle command for a tv which is controlled by a Network-Resource (or Program). The TV has no power status available to the ISY, so a power sensor is added to determine status. The Display Node is the power sensor and the command is a Network-Resource (or Program) to toggle power. #2 Multiple Commands. For Example, changing light bulb colors for multiple lights and turn on the scene containing all lights. While this can be done with multiple commands in the app it is probably better as an ISY program. Either way, I assume we would want the Display Node to show the status of the scene and not the status of the Program. 1
