Another reason is because I have to use the hue bridge timer to start an animation every morning, after that point the ISY takes over management, the ISY994 and the hue bridge currently are only about 2 seconds apart in the calculated times. The author of app running on the hue bridge has told me point blank that not using the hue bridge and his app as the center of automation is the wrong approach... guess what, I don't agree.. hue is a very small part of my total automation package. 1

DaveStLou Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 I'm up and running with a single device and a single node server. 1

Question, you show Policy access using localhost, do I have to hook up a monitor to access? I have a USB PLM, is there anyway to see if the Polisy sees it? Thanks and good work!

bgrubb1 Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 interesting question.... I initially hooked up a USB PLM (it was old but working last time I knew, way back in the Vera days) it said not connected although it responded to the reset button. I re-capped it today and it still appears functional, but not seen by ISY ...Barry 1

Michel Kohanim Posted July 21, 2021 Author Posted July 21, 2021 @mmb, Are you certain that INSTEON Support is checked under the configuration tab? With kind regards, Michel

All repositories are up to date. pkg: isy is not installed, therefore upgrade is impossible is did follow the steps outlined here first. what am I missing?
MrBill Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 56 minutes ago, johnnyt said: what am I missing? the steps outlined in the linked post state: Quote To get started: - sudo pkg update - sudo pkg upgrade (this should upgrade your ISY to 5.0.1) _ sudo service udx restart - sudo service isy restart you typed [admin@polisy ~]$ sudo pkg upgrade isy
johnnyt Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 I'm talking about the steps at the top of *this* post: sudo pkg updatesudo pkg upgrade isy (-> 5.0.2_2)sudo service udx restartsudo service isy restart I was just saying I did the steps from linked post BEFORE in case it was key to being able to do these steps
johnnyt Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 so to be clear I've done the following: - sudo pkg update- sudo pkg upgrade (this should upgrade your ISY to 5.0.1)_ sudo service udx restart- sudo service isy restart sudo pkg updatesudo pkg upgrade isy (-> 5.0.2_2) and posted the messages related to the last command above
johnnyt Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 the problem started before the upgrade command. I wasn't able to restart ISY but was focusing on the commands given for this post. below a more complete sequence of errors, and attached is the stuff before that, which seemed to work ok other than issue with /dev/speaker. sudo service isy restart isy does not exist in /etc/rc.d or the local startup directories (/usr/local/etc/rc.d), or is not executable [admin@polisy ~]$ sudo service isy restart isy does not exist in /etc/rc.d or the local startup directories (/usr/local/etc/rc.d), or is not executable [admin@polisy ~]$ [admin@polisy ~]$ sudo pkg upgrade isy Updating FreeBSD-base repository catalogue... kzboray Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 What is it about new toys that I simply can't resist! So I took the plunge and added ISY to my Polisy. The upgrade / Update went smoothly without any issues. The ISY was immediately available in the launcher (once I typed in the addr) and I was good to go. I was not able to launch the Polisy ISY using LAN, only CLOUD, but it was fast and promises good things in the future. I don't have a USB PLM or a serial cable so I went into the Polyglot config and changed the ISY settings back to my existing ISY994i. It works mostly, but I do have this error that won't go away. Also the NodeServers only partially work. LifX works, but I can't query devices. Ring is dead. Harmony kinda works, etc. I believe this is just another symptom what ever is causing the password error. Anyone else have an experience like this?
bgrubb1 Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Still trying to get USB to work. I Installed the FTDI drivers and PC sees the USB interface. Anything else I can try ? ..Barry

My guess is you aren't and all the steps updated your polisy to the current v12 version. See my response above about the CAT command to update to v13. Jeff

Try re-starting polyglot after setting/saving the ISY info. I've seen this type of issue before and it seems to be related to polyglot getting confused over which ISY it should be using. 1
Michel Kohanim Posted July 21, 2021 Author Posted July 21, 2021 @kzboray, Also, Polyglot does not like self signed certificates. So, please use http. Wtih kind regards, Michel
kzboray Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 (edited) @bpwwer Thank you, I have tried restarting Polyglot, rebooting the Polisy multiple times without any change. @Michel Kohanim Via the launcher I used http://10.0.0.55:8080 as my addr and it shows up in the Launcher and is accessible via CLOUD, not LAN. Using LAN just hangs Java and I have to kill the Java process to get things going again. Using CLOUD works perfectly. Is there a way to remove easily ISY from the Polisy? If so I can do that until I have a 2413U to play with. Thanks guys! Appreciate the fast (as always) help! Edited July 21, 2021 by kzboray
