Suggestions for candelabra bulbs?

How about candelabra bulbs?  I really need a nice looking one to use in my church.  The bulbs are exposed in chandeliers so they have to look good.  We have 6 chandeliers with 12x 60 watt bulbs each.  They are split onto two dimmers.  I can't automate them with because of the 1500 watts per switch.  Plus we'd like to take the electric bill down if possible, usually using the AC here so basically when we have all the lights on (we have a bunch more that aren't on chandeliers) it is like running a 5000 watt space heater while running the AC.   The priest wants bulbs that turn orange when dimmed for night services, and none of the led's I have come across do that, even the ugly ones.

Here are the bulbs that I returned. The colour temperature probably peaked at about 2200K. They were so orange even at full brilliance and they extinguished about 40% level on a SwitchLinc Dimmer.. They don't sell them in Home Depot online stores in Canada now.

homedepot.com has a 75 Watt version now, also.

Home Depot here refuse to return lightbulbs if they have any signs of ever being screwed in so test gently before buying a large lot.

I have these in outdoor fixtures, I just tried to take a picture but there's too much sun right now, I'll try again after sunset.

These are only 40watt equivalents (and I don't see a 60 equiv) but I can't imagine with 12 bulbs per chandelier that this wouldn't be enough light when bright.

I use the same ones too

Have you thought about smart bulbs? While the initial expense may be higher, you would be able to achieve what you want in regards to dimming and color temperature.

Smartbulbs would allow you to create scenes that automatically changes the color temp for the day and time the way you would like it to be. You can even set them to turn themselves off should someone not turn them off at the switch. If you have an ISY on site, this can be controlled via that or whatever bulbs you choose app

Thanks.  That is the wrong base, but I found it online with the correct base.  They don't stock it, so I'll have to order them.  Hopefully they look like they say.  I don't really care if they don't dim smooth to zero, that doesn't matter.  In fact, I would be fine if they just had two settings, dimmed and orange, bright and soft white.

EDIT:  Can't get it.  Out of stock everywhere.

The bulbs are exposed in wall sconces and chandeliers, so they have to look like regular incandescent bulbs.  To the best of my knowledge, smart bulbs don't look like that.  I can promise you, if I try to swap out bulbs with something that looks funny, I will hear about it.  But maybe what you speak of do look OK, you'd have to give me an example.

All of them pretty much carry the same style. You can go with something higher cost (such as hue) depending on setup.

There are also cheaper options such as this and this one by Cree.

The Cree one I think would pass muster with the aesthetic critics, but the price is going to be an issue being 3x the price of the Phillips and fewer lumens.  Really I would never use most of the features and I'm looking at a rather daunting task of linking ~70 bulbs to the wifi.  But then again, these are available and the Phillips are not.  I have been really really happy with all the Cree commercial fixtures I own (3 different styles and many of them), and have been hugely disappointed with all the Cree retail lights I have owned.  Not sure where these bulbs fall.  Every single  Cree screw-in bulb I have ever bought failed far earlier than rated.  Like 1/10th rated or less.

The hue would be more expensive than Cree since you can get a 6 pack for 75 bucks. Depending on setup, hue could work since you would be offloading the traffic to the hub itself. Being that its a church, the impact may be minimal to your router since the bulbs wouldnt necessarily be communicating that much.

There are other things to look at such as range when it comes to using hue. Range comes into play depending on where your devices are located. You would also need 2 bridges since you have more than 50 bulbs. Then again, wifi bulbs performance depends on the strength of your church's network. I would definitely reserve the IP addresses of all wifi bulbs if you went that route. With hue its not as important and the inconvenience of 2 bridges is minimized due to everything being able to operate on its own.

RF might not be a good option with a church full of WiFi and BT gadgets in 100's of pockets. Too many bulbs also possibly putting out signals. With your central wiring grouping the wall dimmer would likely work 100% of the time.

However, there are bulbs out there (I think Philips made them) that will do multiple colour temps with a flick of the power switch.

I doubt that would be much of a problem. In dense urban areas such as large city apartment buildings, many people use these types of things successfully without issue. The chances of issues are greatly reduced if adjustments are made during non service hours.

If they are adjusting during service hours, the small chance of communication issues arising is probably preferable to having to flick a switch multiple times until someone gets to the correct setting they may want with a Church full of people......Heaven forbid they miss it and have to start over

I don't know how these wifi bulbs work exactly having never used one, but I just suspect that with 100 or so of them, it would be a PITA of mega proportions to link them all and maintain it.  I would have to create a whole new subnet just for them and I suspect that might be the easiest part.  Should I use "dumb" bulbs then I just use a handful of "smart" switches, several of which I have already installed.  Those wifi bulbs look very nice and maybe I'll consider them at home.  But at church, I just want orange when dim and soft white when bright.  I was able to find another website (bulbsdepot.com) that sells the Philips bulbs under a slightly different model number.  I suspect the ones at HD are specially packaged for HD versions of the same thing.  I ordered one to try it out.  Shipping is flat rate $9.95 for 1 or 100.  This bulb lists the dimmed color at 2200K and the full bright at 2700K.

Too bad there isn't two circuits to each chandelier. You could install some 2200K bulbs and leave them on, while the bright white bulbs were on a dimmer. This would would the same as the WarmGlow bulbs but in discreet bulbs. I found my 6 bulbs would never achieve bright white, or even warm white colour temperatures.  I was trying to use mine in my ensuite bathroom but the full-on colour was so orange and dim,  they weren't useful for using in a mirror. Others report different results so you may need to try various bulbs. I doubt the little permanently on 0.5 watt LEDs that create the 2200K will be bright enough anyway.
