I just run pkg upgrade and it upgraded ISY to 5.2.0 however now ISY is does not appear to be listening on any port.

I can still access via portal and UD mobile.

Downgraded back to isy-5.1.1_7 restored backup and everything works. Reinstalled isy-5.2.0_52 and it doesn't listen on either 8080 or 8843 again.

Did you use https://ISYipAdress:8843

or just http://ISYipAdress:8843 ?

I have the same issue except I can’t reach ISY on Polisy with UD Mobile either. I created a ticket and included the debug.log file. There are numerous errors, but the ISY is still executing programs.

I used http on 8080 and https on 8443. That is the correct ports for the proper protocols. NMAP scan showed that isy was not listening on either port. Once the unit was downgraded back to isy-5.1.1_7 and backup files placed back into /var/isy/FILES/CONF/ and a restart, it listened and functioned perfectly. Upgrading once again caused unit to stop listening again, restored works again. So it is obvious that there is an issue with ISY-5.2.0_52.

If you haven't cleared the cache, you can use pkg file in /var/cache/pkg to restore isy back to 5.1.1. You will need to uninstall isy 5.2.0 with sudo pkg delete isy (this will remove all configuration so you need to have a backup of isy if you don't have a backup, use sftp to copy /var/isy/FILES/CONF) then reinstall isy from cached pkg in /var/cache/pkg. sudo pkg install isy-5.1.1_7.pkg. I had both build 7 and 5, I reinstalled 7.

@ase,

Thanks for the command lines to restore.  I'm an amatuer at those and I appreciate the help.

I'm going to hold off going back until I get a response on the ticket I logged.  I may need to provide other error information to help locate the issue.  But if need be, I'll put those commands to work.  Fortunately, ISY on Polisy 5.2 is running the programs I have installed on it, so I have a little time to wait for a fix.

Thanks again,

Mark

@mbking, I responded to your ticket and this is a known issue. You can either click on the button on the front once or do:

sudo pkg update && sudo pkg upgrade

This should install udx 5.3 which automatically fixes the problem.

With kind regards,
Michel

These instructions got the launcher recognizing my ISY/Polisy as well, but now my UUID appears zeroed out.

And, I can't get past the "System Busy. Please do not power off..." dialog box after selecting the Polisy and logging in.

It repeatedly -- and slowly -- counts up to 99% and then starts over at 0.

I've restarted the Polisy twice now, but that doesn't appear to help.

To stop that you'll need to open Task Manager (Ctrl-shift-esc) and kill the java web launcher.

That closes the entire Admin Console. It could be that I'm not finding the specific "System Busy" subtask in Task Manager in order to keep the console open. Regardless, I'm afraid that won't fix my lost UUID.

Correct, I thought you couldn't get rid the of the admin console with busy status bar.

for the UUID issue you should open a ticket.   support@universal-devices.com

Good idea. Done.

Though I will say, having a UUID of 00:00:00:00:00:01 is kinda cool.

You might want to try restoring ISY from your most recent backup that might help with the busy screen but I did not test it before I uninstalled ISY then installed it and restored my backup.

FYI, all I had to do was a...

sudo service isy restart

...and both of the above problems went away. D'oh!
