headviking
we just moved into a new house with a DSC 1616 power series alarm installed. Not sure if it was monitored or not. I do have the master code but not the installer code. The key pad was a bit banged up so I opted for the PK5500 instead of replacing the PK5501. Now I have an error triangle with dashes on screen. How can I get it to work with out error screen and showing status on screen. I believe it has been lock out. What can I do? Please help John Link to comment
Geddy
@headviking Welcome to the forums. This is typically user-to-user support for Universal Device products (ISY994 or Polisy). I would suggest you look for specific help from DSC - https://www.dsc.com/ - for you issue. 1 Link to comment
Goose66
@headviking If you are a DIY and home automation fan, then I suggest looking online to find out how to factory reset your DSC 1616 alarm panel (involves some wiring and grounding of a pin on the control chip), enter a new installer code, and configure the panel from scratch so you know exactly how everything works. If not, then I would suggest contacting an alarm monitoring company and have them take over system configuration and maintenance. Link to comment
io_guy
Have you tried the default installer codes (5555, 5010, 1550, or 1500)? If it's locked out I don't think a 16XX series will allow the factory reset jumper hack. Might be easier to just buy a new 1832 panel for $50. Link to comment
larryllix
As per @io_guyabove IIRC my old DSC panel used a master code by default that was the model number of the panel. Link to comment
