Erratic behavior on my isy994

Hi:

For a few days I have observed erratic behavior on my isy994. I have 4 double z-wave Zooz zen30 switches, when I turn on the switch (fan) the status of the dimmer (light) changes immediately to ON but the bulb stays off. If I turn on the light the switch does not change state. They are two different entities on the same device that are not supposed to be activated at the same time. This same behavior happens in the four ZEN30 that I have installed. I have checked all the programs, scenes, alexa and I can't figure out what may be mixing the states. I have Home Assistant installed and I disconnected it to test and the problem still continues. If anyone has any idea what could happen I would be grateful.

Thank

JR

For security purposes, I don't open links from new users so i didn't look at your logs. I also don't use this device so i can't say how it's behavior should be.

With that said, I do ask- is this behavior on all devices? If so, maybe there's a parameter that needs to be changed. You can go to the mfg. website to get the full manual to check. Another thing you could do is unplug the Isy and your HA installation together and control the device to see if the behavior continues. If it does, most likely, there's been a command input into the device to force the light on which would be a parameter. If it stops then it's probably a program.

Also, verify that your firmware and UI matches. If you have the latest 500 series chip (no light in the back of Isy, then make sure you're on 5.3.4. if you see an led light in the back of your Isy, then make sure you're on 5.0.16c and clear your Java cache to make sure you're on the latest firmware to lessen the chance of any bugs. Verify your UI matches your firmware.

Hi:

Thanks for responding and taking the time.
- Edited my original post to include log without the file.
- This behavior only occurs on four Zooz ZEN30 that I have installed. The other z-wave switch models report states correctly.
- I was verifying all the parameters according to the manufacturer's manual and I did not find that any of them can change the state of the Dimmer (light) in ISY without being physically activated if the switch (fan) changes state.
- I disconnected Home assistant and the internet from the house and the problem continues.
- Firmware and UI matches on 5.3.4.
- The dimmer status changes only in ISY but physically the switch does not make any changes nor does the bulb turn on.
- I don't know if it's a good idea to perform an exclude/include procedure with reset to default.

Disconnect the isy! Does it happen? Since it happens on all of them, is remove, manually factory reset and verify behavior prior to adding to the isy.

Hi:

If I disconnect ISY I would have no way to check the status if it changes. Physically on the (zen30) switch/dimmer there is no problem, if I press the switch there are no effects on the dimmer or changes in state. What is seen physically is not what is reported internally in ISY, which seems to be synchronizing the two entities on/off.

@jesusmr what @lilyoyo1 is trying to get you to do is make sure that the HA and ISY aren't controlling/causing the issue. You started out saying

Are you saying the "status" is something you see in the ISY (or Home Assistant)? Or does the physical switch appear to be on, but the bulb is off?

Again, are you saying that something in the ISY is saying that a switch is on, but it's not physically on?

By taking the controllers out of the equation the troubleshooting step is "do the switches operate as expected when not being controlled by other means?" If they operate as expected then something in one of your systems is causing the oddity. At that point...what @lilyoyo1 then suggests is...

So seems like you need to reset the switches and add them back to the ISY.

As far as Home Assistant assistant goes I can't help you on that. It's not a system I use.

It seems that something (either ISY or HA) has corrupted the operation of the switch. If you're saying they operate as expected when there is no ISY or HA involved then something in one (or both) of those systems is not working as you expect it to.

The easiest process is to remove them from the controller, factory reset, then add back to your ISY.  Since it's just 4 switches it shouldn't take much time.

Hi:

Today I did the exclude - Reset to default - Include procedure in two of the zen30. One of them is working properly without any kind of error and the other one continues doing the same erratic behavior. I had home assistant disconnected. I really have no idea what could be causing this.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I'd contact the manufacturer at this point as it seems there's something with the devices themselves outside of the controllers

@jesusmr I am experiencing this same issue with my ZEN30. What response did you get from Zooz support?

I moved to ISY on Polisy last month and I'm fairly certain my ZEN30 switch was not exhibiting this behavior when attached to my old ISY94i.
