jkraus
it's been a while since I installed the dongle (don't even remember but I think it was a plug in on the board, right?) and have not used Zwave in years, but now my ISY interface says "Zwave dongle not responding" any suggestions? Techman
What's your ISY firmware and UI version? You most likely have the older 300 series dongle which is not compatible with the newer ISY firmware. Link to comment
jkraus
Oh I see. So I need to buy the 500 series? Link to comment
MrBill
Or buy a polisy and a 700 series z-wave dongle. Link to comment
jkraus
thanks for all your help today. I am leaning that way. Just wondering if Zwave is the way to go to replace all my insteon switches (as they fail) as zwave seems to need repeater and had such good luck with Instenon. so Perhaps Lutron as you suggested has less issues. it such a big investment just want to be sure going forward Link to comment

Lutron is great but cost 4-5x the price of a single zwave device (unless you go with caseta), and you still have to build out your network There's no perfect scenario. Link to comment

Is not Caseta the same as Lutron, or are there different Lutron versions? Link to comment
