Recommendation for under carpet / linolium / pergo pressure sensor

Does anyone have an recommendations for a pressure sensor?

I'm going to buy one of these Floor Mat Sensors and see whats what. I suspect it's just a variable resistance to the alarm box. If it is then I'm thinking I can build a simple voltage divider and connect that to an analog input on a something like a MimoLite. But I'm wondering if someone has a better mouse trap?

Thank you!

@apostolakisl Actually made me laugh.

I started to type out my replay, but the typewriter ribbon ran out and then the floppy I was going to save it on won't eject from my Apple Lisa. What a day.

@tmorse305 I don't think that will work. It's an on / off mat. Once I put flooring over it, it will be in an on or off state due to the weight of the floor covering. I need something with the ability to produce a variable current or resistance that can be hooked into a simple analog circuit. Or I think that's what would work best. Still hoping someone jumps in with the perfect solution.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Maybe you could put something like this under the flooring.

@palayman I looked at those, but they max out at 5g of weight. Something like that is exactly what i'm after, but with a much higher max weight.

Update++++++

Opps, the ones you linked are different than what I had seen. Yes these might work!

Thank you!

Actually there is modern linoleum.  One of the neighbors that just remodeled their basement, used one pattern in the 1/2 bath and another in the kitchenette.  You wouldn't guess it's linoleum....

Who knew?  I guess you.  I did some reading and it seems they now have some waterproof sealer that makes it maintenance free for 5 to 10 years.  Otherwise, it would seem to be essentially the same product it was 100 years ago.
