I have been trying to pair the 2844-222 Insteon Motion Sensor to the ISY - getting below message - Cannot determine Insteon Engine - any ideas ?

Your address is either typed incorrectly or its not in linking mode during the pairing process. Also, make sure that your UI matches your firmware

I've been caught by 8 vs B before, so check that.

"Cannot determine Insteon engine" is usually associated with poor communications between the device and the PLM.

As suggested above, make sure the sensor is in the linking mode. Also try bringing the sensor closer to the PLM

Always factory reset before linking to ISY.
