Forum Content Missing + One Year

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to find some content on the forum I started 2 maybe 3 years ago which has some important steps to a problem I'm encountering again.  I know the search date parameters are set low so I changed them to 2 and then 3 years ago,  It doesn't matter, I still only see content I started within the last year.  What am I missing?  I'd really like to see that post because I frankly I don't remember the steps and they are important.

Try to go into your own account and see your own posts. MAYBE that works.

@theitprofessor,

Just to verify, I just looked into my profile and I am able to see posts from 2009 forward.

This is a long shot but is there any chance that you used a different email address and profile name back then?

No, the email address has always been the same.  In fact, I "can" see private messages about several posts of content I started, with other members, going back years.  But for some reason the content itself, is limited to only one year.

This feels like a forum admin setting issue or a bug.

What is the issue that you're trying to find?  perhaps google site search might help in the google search box start with "site:forum.universal-devices.com" (without the quotes) then a space and normal google search terms.

There are a few cases were some forums have been archived out of public view, in that case @Geddy may be able to find what you're looking for.

@theitprofessor the forum search doesn't find archived material. I think they only way to find that is using Google Site Search.

The site is set to auto archive if nothing new is posted to a thread after a while (it's a rather long wait time - I think 2+ years).

There were some parts of the forums that had very old information that were removed last year. Most of that was abandoned 3rd party or just really old (outdated) guides.

Nothing turns up on a Google search.  The best I can determine is this was about Nov/Dec of 2019.  I posted a more than one issue with running Hue on Polisy and having 2 Philips Hue hubs.  I worked with xKing some and some trial and error of my own and eventually figured it out and it's been working flawlessly since.  I documented in the post step by step procedures on how to do it for anyone else interested.  It had to do with duplicate group names and scenes from the two hubs like "All Lights" which is a default.  I never thought I would need to keep the steps for myself (I should know better).  It took me as I remember a couple weeks to figure out the steps that worked perfect once I figured out what was actually happening.  But I don't remember any more than that.  I'm not certain of this but the best I can determine is the posts might have had one or both of these names or something similar: "Philips Hue Duplicate Delete Return" or "Two Philips Hue Bridges on Polisy".

The reason this is an issue now is because I upgraded from PG2 to PG3 and did an ISY to IoP migration and lost Node Server everything but I was expecting that as Michel warned me.  If fact, this post/documentation I'm looking for is only secondary.  I can't get PG3 and the Hue node server to find either of my hubs right now which is a bigger issue.

FYI, I already know how to add more than one Hue hub, I've had it working for 3 years, it's a customer parameter on the node server configuration.  The issue I have right now is the new version of PG3 and the current Hue node server can't find even one Hue hub.  I will start a new post for this.

Yes I'm very aware of the "bridges" config parameter.  I've been using it for 3 years.  This is not that.  I'm also a 35 year IT vet so properly configured network IP addresses DHCP and reservations are second nature to me.  This is not any of that.  I suspect it's a lack of a developer issue which is talked about a lot in the post you sent.  I did start a new post in the proper area of the forum for this.
