I had a similar experience adding a multisensor 7. The event log showed it as being added but no nodes showed up. I tried sync with interview but it crashed IOP with java errors and automatically restarted but still no nodes. i then shut down IOP and reopened it from the finder. It started but showed busy with the progress bar. When that finished, the nodes showed up

Thanks for the detail. I tried restarting the isy (IOP) process and restarting it, restarting the admin console as well and the nodes are still MIA. Not sure how to proceed yet - no answer from support yet.

This is just an idea...  You might look at the "DH All Devices" selection under the Z-Wave | Z-Wave X-Ray menu to see if the devices that don't appear in the device tree are in that device list.  In my case, device 2 appears in this list, but nothing shows up in the device tree.  Device 2 is a Aeotec Range Extender 7 (it was the first device I included in the network).  This won't fix anything, but you might be able to see if the device is actually included.  If a device appears in X-Ray, you can run a REST query against it, such as this:

http://192.168.1.19:8080/rest/zmatter/zwave/dh/node/2/cc/0

This returns a ton of data for an otherwise invisible device.

31 is the device I tried adding. I've not been able to get any battery powered device to successfully interview. So far - all the reports I've seen in the forum are similar - battery powered remotes.

31 is the device I tried adding. I've not been able to get any battery powered device to successfully interview. So far - all the reports I've seen in the forum are similar - battery powered remotes.

I have had the same problem trying to add a Fibaro 601 remote.  It goes through the interview process and closes without adding any nodes.  I believe the battery devices don’t stay awake long enough to let the interview complete.  Has anyone had success with adding a Fibaro remote?  If so, please let us know the details for adding this device.

Got a response to my ticket - an issue has been identified that would affect multiple devices. No specifics yet on which devices but the fix is in to allow the nodes to be seen. Not clear yet on the lack of interviews though.

Also noted: the lack of writing to the ZWAY.LOG file is an issue in log rotation. I had restarted the ISY binary (which got logging going again) and this is the correct temporary resolution until the root issue can be located.

Well I'm excited. :)

Aside from critical breaking issues, the rest of my experience with ZMatter has been excellent.  Even my Insteon network is working much better, and there's really no cause for that.

I'm likewise having difficulty adding a Zooz Zen16 device. I only see a power switch and three 'basic association' nodes, when with the 500 series dongle on the ISY I had the expected three inputs and three outputs which worked properly. Z-Wave X-ray shows "Interview Not done" for each attempt to add the device though I'm able to set parameters. Hoping this gets fixed in the next update, this is one of the most important devices in my system.

edit: After restoring from the ISY 994i backup and attempting to add this device, as the afternoon progressed Insteon functionality just stopped working, and then I could no longer find the eisy in the finder. This seems to mirror some of the reports I've seen in other threads. I think I'll go back to my original functioning setup and come back to this project in a few months once some of these bugs are worked out.

Below example when I used Zooz ZWave dongle, I set to 7 and after excluding/including again shows a device type named barrier for the door and shows as open/close status not on/off.

Here is the instructions I used before on Zooz Z-Wave dongle which work fine...

 

For Garage Door
---------------
Will hook up the switch and the sensor on separate sensor/relays just in case the isolation is not set correctly.

Reset
Include in ISY
Set for Door Open/Close sensor
Set Parameter 2 to 7
Set Parameter 3 to 7
Exclude/Include in ISY
This will add additional nodes each sensor

Set Parameter 10 to 0
Set Parameter 11 to 0
This isolates the relays being triggered from the inputs

Garage Door Sensor (Sensor 1)
ZW XXX.1 Barrier 1

Garage Door Switch (Relay 2)
ZW XXX.2 Binary Switch

To set simulate momentary 1 second
Parameter 8: auto turn-off timer for Relay 2
Parameter 17: auto turn-off timer unit for Relay 2

Set Parameter 17 to 1 (seconds)
Set Paramter 8 to 1 (1 second) *** must use 4 byte to write

Parameter 20: Reverse the reported values for your selected input on S2 C terminals (select same value as parameter 3 eg. 7)
(not reversed set to 0)

Closed on Sensor 1 will show door closed
Set Parameter 20 to 7 if your door sensor switch is NO when closed.
 

 

I did some tests tonight and was able to set parameter 3 to 3 which has built in momentary garage door setting on button so it turns off relay 2 after a few seconds. I have garage door open sensor on relay 1. The issue seems to be with anything with parameter 4 and above, it does not show the extra nodes. The Zooz instructions say to either exclude/include or re-interview. Neither work. Because of this we cannot get extra parameters and isolate the inputs.

Note that it is important to set the parameter using the one ZWave node that contains the parameter option... right clicking on a different node and selecting zwave write configuration parameter did not seem to work for me. In case of Zen17 specifically it is the node named default ZY xxx Binary Switch. The ones named ZY xxx.1 or .2 do not work.

Hopefully UDI can fix this Zen17 configuration issue since this is a very useful and popular device... would be nice to be able to separate the inputs from the relay and set different types of contacts. If this was possible to isolate, I could have the switch on relay 2 and sensor on input 2 and could run two separate doors, or maybe other sensors and switches. It worked fine before with Zooz dongle so thing there is just something overlooked hopefully.

If I issue an open comand or a close command, it works, but my programs that are using the status value do not work, of course.

No, but I did send @Chris Jahn some data of these in operation from the Z-Wave log, at his request.  I think UDI have what they need.
