Alexa doesn't accept percentage commands

I just replaced a SWL using LeeG's directions

Everything seems to be good. I deleted the old address in the Portal and in the Amazon Alexa Smart Home browser page.

I've added the new device as a light etc. All good

I can tell her to turn the device on and off no problem.

But when I tell her to turn it on 10% or example she says "Hmm, I don't know that"

have I missed a step?

Try telling Alexa to "set device to 10 percent", or "dim device to 10 percent".

This works, thank you.

I'm uncertain why I used to be able to tell the SWL Turn on to __% and now I cant.

I have SWL that currently react to the "Turn On ___%" command with no problem.

Not sure, Alexa gets confused sometimes and often turns off wrong light or all the lights in a room if they are named closely. A problem I find is that that I have too many lights and forget what they are called ;)

When using Percents i've never mixed in "Turn on" with the command... I just say "Alexa, set X to Y"  (you can actually omit the word "Percent").  Example, "Alexa, Set Lamp one to 30"

I'll do this from now on. Some devices will respond to "Turn On" but all devices seem to respond to "set"

Thank you

@andrew77 are all devices the same type in Alexa? Some might be a switch and others might be a light. There might be a difference. Just a guess/hunch. I've just always used "set x to y" for simple use.

off topic chatter: When setting timers you can omit a lot.... Try "Alexa, 5 minutes"

This is awesome. Is there a repository (I just wanted to use the word repository) for simplified Alexa phrases?
