Chris Jahn
* IoX = ISY on Anything. Welcome to ZMatter Z-Wave+ Beta ! In this build we focused on fixing issues with migration along with a few other bugs. Additionally, you can now use the "Migrate to ZMatter Z-Wave" button on the configuration tab to take a "migration" backup of Polisy or eisy. This "migration" backup (different than a regular backup) migrates your Z-Wave network when restored on any Polisy or Eisy. You only need the Z-Wave dongle containing your Z-Wave network (e.g. Zooz) plugged in when making the backup. Getting Started Make a backup of Polisy (Admin Console | File | Backup IoX ) Launch the Admin Console, go to the Configuration tab, click on Update Packages. Warning, this might take a while depending on how current your OS is Once completed (4 beeps + 1), unplug Polisy If you are using INSTEON, make sure the PLM is connected Power up your Polisy note that initial boot might take a much longer time than normal because udx might want to install missing packages to assist with migration (in the future) Once boot up is complete, Launch Admin Console Migrating to ZMatter Z-Wave+ Go to the configuration tab and press the Migrate to ZMatter Z-Wave button to start migration Please pay close attention to the instructions Do not unplug or install any Z-Wave boards / dongles until instructed to do so during migration When IoX restarts for the first time during migration, you will see that your old Z-Wave nodes are not enabled. As the device interviews proceed, they will become enabled as they are updated with data from the new Z-Wave implementation. The best way to monitor the progress is to open the Admin Console Event Viewer to level 3 For those who want lots of low-level details, you can also use this from the command line: tail -f /var/isy/FILES/LOG/ZWAY.LOG Note: The only way to go back to the original Z-Wave implementation is to restore a backup that was made prior to moving to ZMatter Z-Wave+ Here are the installation instructions for those of you with a ZMatter Z-Wave board (not USB dongle): ZMatter-Assembly- Instructions.pdf (universal-devices.com). Ensure that the antennas are connected in the proper location (Z-Wave = yellow band, on the left. Zigbee = red band, on the right) Features Support migration using a "migration" backup of Polisy Bug Fixes Fixed issues with synchronize | New & Deleted with interview Some binary sensor values were not available Better detection of the Z-Wave dongle / board (i.e. the "Initializing System" bug) ISY Nodes not being created for some devices System configuration being reset when migrating to ZMatter Z-Wave+ ZWAY.LOG was not properly archived Fixed the "Write Changes" button Next More bug fixes, and unless higher priority issues crop up, better support for detecting events from button presses, motion sensors etc.
