Polisy Pro power supply

My Polisy Pro decided not to boot up this morning.  Seems odd, as it has been running without issue since I got it.  The power adapter shows a very dim blue light when it's plugged in, and I'm wondering if that's not the problem.  This is probably a dumb question, but how bright is the light on other folks power supplies?  The light on mine can barely be seen if there's any ambient light.  I don't know of any way to test it, other than plugging it in my Polisy.

It worth trying a new power supply.

Okay, I found one that fits (robbing Peter to pay Paul here), and yes, it looks like it's a power supply issue.  Back up and running.  Thanks.

You can test power adapter with DC voltage tester. Which is a useful thing to have if you don't have one. My light is pretty bright. The real question is - are there any lights on Polisy.

I have a multimeter, but I'm none too proficient with it.  I'll give it a go, though.

There were no lights on the Polisy at all.  When I plugged it in I could hear a faint ticking sound, but that even went away after a few minutes.

I robbed another device, and I'm back in business.  In true UDI fashion, I'm being sent another power supply.  I've also ordered an eisy, so I'll have a useful backup system again...  A few hours of down time, and all is well again.

Yes there are 3 lights on Polisy.   Also it sounds like @Bumbershoot has a Polisy power supply with a blue light which is interesting because mine doesn't, but Wal-warts are a dime a dozen when buying in quantity like UD would and they may not buy the same unit over and over.

However, testing a power supply with a meter, unless it's a meter than the user can dial in a load isn't necessarily conclusive, obviously if it reads zero it's dead Jim.  On the other hand most of the 994 failing power supplies have normal voltage when test with the low voltage end not plugged into the 994, they make the blue light on the 994 light up too.  but they have no current and won't power the 994.

Learn something new every day. I've never seen that and would never expect it.

As a side note, blue color LEDs have the highest rate of failure. My power one died on 994. So blue LED going dimmer on power supply is not necessarily indicative on its own.

I too have seen supplies look fine with a meter no load and have almost no output when loaded. One of mine on an ISY controller was that way. Though none of mine had a Blue LED.
