Posted February 7, 20232 yr I just installed an RCS Z-Wave thermostat (TZ45R) on an eISY. I can see the thermostat on the Admin console and any change made on the thermostat are reflected on the console. However, I can't write changes to the thermostat from the console. For instance, I change the Cool Setpoint to 72 on the dropdown, then click Write Changes. Nothing happens: no change on the console nor on the thermostat. It's the first Z-Wave device I have ever added to ISY or eISY...
February 7, 20232 yr @hchainyou have to press the "Cool Setpoint" button to the left to set the parameter in the drop down.
February 7, 20232 yr Author Ah Ah! Works like a charm! What is the Write Changes for then? Also, I lied a little: the Heat/Cool State and the Fan State don't update correctly when the system turns on/off. Now, for instance, the heat is off but it still shows Heating even if I click on Query.

I had been wanting to switch over to a local controlled z-wave thermostat. I tired the Honeywell T6 Pro and I was disappointed, so I am always trying to learn more about other models.
February 7, 20232 yr Author As soon as I get the status correct, I will confirm everything. But looks good so far. I got 3 for $75 total on eBay so it was tough to pass. Let me know if you want the link.

February 11, 20232 yr I picked up one of the TZ45R tstats off eBay for $30, and installed it yesterday. Enrolled easily into eisy, and so far basic functions seem to be working fine. UD Mobile controls the basic HVAC functions. Current temperature, Heat/Cool state, Fan Mode, Fan State, and Heat/Cool temperature set points all update immediately in UD Mobile. Initial IoX programs to detect and report temperature settings are working properly. Hard to beat this deal for a low-cost, simple Zwave thermostat.
February 11, 20232 yr Author The only thing I notice is that the state (from Heating/Cooling back to Idle) takes around 4-5 minutes to update, everything else is instantaneous (both from ISY to thermostat and reverse). Do you see that on yours? I have 3 which behave this way. Edited February 11, 20232 yr by hchain

Do you see that on yours? I have 3 which behave this way. I managed to find a CT-101 for only $50 CAD, which I received and setup last night. It works fine except I do also notice that issue where it does not update the state instantly from idle... I am using on my gas fireplace so all I use is the W and RH. I didn't want to run it for long time last night to determine if it ever updates. However, it is going down to -20C tonight so will test and see if updates after a few min This CT-101 I bought is capable of running on battery without C wire, which works perfect for me because the thermostat I replaced was only 2 wires... surprisingly it updates and responds fairly instant off battery (except for the state issue). As long as it updates eventually I can probably live with that. I just wanted the ability to control/turn off fireplace remotely if accidentally left on, maybe make alexa routine, more complicated for wife LOL. Edited February 17, 20232 yr by brians

Heat/Cool State status on UD Mobile immediately goes from Idle to Heating, but after completion of a heat cycle, it does take a few minutes before showing Idle. But Fan Mode status goes back to Auto immediately. Curious. @hchain Apologies for the delayed response; just saw your message above.
