Z-Wave stops responding

Featured Replies

I have had all my Z-Wave devices become unreachable and the only way to get them back is to reboot eisy and after the reboot Z-Wave is operational again for days until it happens again. I have submitted a ticket and just wanted to post here to see if anybody else has experienced any similar issues.

Are you on Polisy/Zooz/ZMatter or eisy ?  I have had this a few times in the past but not lately. What version are you on ?

I am using eisy with the ZMatter USB stick and running IoX 5.5.9

Same as me. I have not had this issue in a while and I don't remember how it was resolved. Sorry not to be helpful. I am sure that UD will follow up on your ticket and get this resolved.

I have experienced all Z-Wave devices going unresponsive.  No doubt it was more frequent prior to 5.5.9, but has occurred once a few weeks ago (since 5.5.9).  At least for me, a reboot doesn't solve, I have to go to each device and perform a Z-Wave>Synchronize>Update.

I have seen two different issues.

Initially after migrating to eisy,  it happened a few times that eisy would not recognize the Zwave usb. Usually this was resolved after a eisy power cycle.  Fortunately I have not had this issue for quite some time now.

The other issue that I have seen, including recently, is that after a reboot some Zwave devices show  empty in the Administrative Console and then also do not react on a program command. When I click on Query or ON or OFF on these devices, they come back.

Try creating a new program set to run at startup. In the Then section add a wait x minutes. X will depend on the size of your system, try starting at 5 or 10 minutes. Next add run Query All (factory default Query program) program.

After your X wait, this should run the factory default Query program and populate the Zwave devices, providing they respond to a Query.

Just to wrap this up I found a Z-Wave device that died and was not responding any more. I deleted the device from eisy and have not had any issues since.
