Install Hue nodeserver

I'm not sure this is possible but, I have my perfectly working isy994. I remember installing the RIng nodeserver at some point without having to get a polisy. (I don't remember how to do it)

Now that the isy has been retired, can I install any node servers on the isy or do I need the eisy now?

I'm actually trying to get some of my Hue bulbs to work with my isy rather than using the hue app on my phone.

OR

abandon the hue node server route and get some colour changing bulbs that will work with the isy (no other hardware)?

As far as I know, there are no colour changing bulbs that work "natively" with the ISY.  Having said this, one could control hue bulbs with the ISY using the network module.  Doing so required a bit more effort, but was not too bad once you get through the learning curve.  Unfortunately, I am not sure one can add the network module anymore if the ISY is no longer supported.

Once upon a time, you could run node servers on a Raspberry pi, with the current version of Polyglot, that is no longer the case.

Also, remember free support for your ISY994 has ended and there will be no further updates or development for this hardware.

To utilize node servers today, eisy is the currently available hardware. It is much faster than the ISY994, and new features are being actively added.

After some more research, the LIFX bulbs (and many other brands) have a feature that returns the last bulb setting/colour before the bulb loses power.
Therefore I plan to use my current isy to turn on/off the bulbs....and I I want to change the colour, I'll use its app.
It doesn't make sense to spend hundreds of dollars and countless setup hours to use the one app. (It would have been nice). But I an certainly live with that.
