tmorse305 Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 (edited) Hi @Jimbo.Automates, I'm running 3.4.6. I had some issues regarding the PGx upgrade but Michel was able to resolve it. My user name for Telegram is now missing from the configuration and there's no way to add it. See screen shot I cannot physically type it in anywhere. What am I missing? Also I'm on the latest version of PGx that came out today. Do I need to update Notifications to the latest too? I held off because you had said there were some issues going to the latest. Thanks! Telegram There is a very simple method to setup your own Telegram Bot. This is initially a semi-manual process to create your own bot. I will be researching and testing better ways to do this in the future. First create your User Bot Install Telegram on your computer or phone Will need to copy/paste a long key to PG3 Go to https://telegram.me/botfather Command: /newbot Answer questions: Bot Name: Any name you want User Name: Any username you want. botfather prints a line saying: Use this token to access the HTTP API: Copy and save that, you will need it for the configuring the nodeserver Also save a permenant record of it somewhere, along with the link in the next step You will also be given a link to your bot like t.me/{yourBotUsername}, click on it. The "Start" will be shown, click that Go to: @RawDataBot Click Start This will give your user id listed under message -> from -> id Copy that to use in Nodeserver configuration The tell the Notification Nodserver about it. PG3 UI Go to Notification Nodeserver Configuration Click "Add Telegram User Bot Service Node" Set the name Paste the HTTP API Key from above Paste your userid into the users (currently only one user is supported) Click Save Changes
tmorse305 Posted July 2, 2023 Author Posted July 2, 2023 (edited) I'm familiar with the instructions. I've been using Telegram since Jim first offered it. I suspect this is related to the integration of this NS with UDMobile. My problem is there is no little white box to type the user name into. Edited July 2, 2023 by tmorse305
tmorse305 Posted July 3, 2023 Author Posted July 3, 2023 Update for @Jimbo.Automates I deleted the NS and started over. The little white box reappeared so I could enter the user id. It is still not working however. The is an error in the log that I will PM to you. I know that my bot is set up correctly because it responds to a /getme command by copy and pasting the url right from the error log. I'm now running 3.6.9. I create a second bot but the result is the same. Thanks.
Jimbo.Automates Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Thanks, I'll try to take a look when I return home from traveling.Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk 1
Solution tmorse305 Posted July 4, 2023 Author Solution Posted July 4, 2023 To close this out, @Jimbo.Automates suggests using the user id (12345...) not the user name (@xxxxxxbot). When I switched it started working immediately. Thanks again Jim! 1
Jimbo.Automates Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Great! I'll try to look into allowing user name as well since that would be nice.Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk 1
