peterathans Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Anyone have experience hard-wiring a power supply for the Smartwings shades? They show an available 12vDC wall wart for the purpose, but we're doing new construction so I'd like to run wired through the wall and out the top of the window frame. Really don't want to deal with batteries, but also don't want to see any wired connection (keep everything concealed).
TheA2Z Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 I have multiple Smartwing Zwave plus battery shades. One I have with a plug next to it that I keep plugged in all the time. I too thought about running wires but charging once a year ended up be the worse of two evils (running wires). I do know it can be done as I reached out to Smartwings support about it. Just have a centrally located power distribution panel and wire to all the shades. They sell a 12VDC distribution panel on their site, but dont imagine you have to use that one. 18 Outputs DC Power Distribution Panel – SmartWings (smartwingshome.com) They also make specific shades for hardwiring: Hardwired Shades – SmartWings (smartwingshome.com)
