Did you just do an upgrade? Give us a little more information please. What did you do just before this error?

Are you using IoX Launcher to access admin console?

This 401 error is invalid username or password for the direct local connection.  Try the default of "admin" for both.  If the default does not work then it was changed by the user and will need to be reset.  Alternatively the URL to ISY from ISY Portal will work with the Admin Console using your Portal Credentials.

so yes to iox launcher.

and worryingly - username/password was reset to admin/admin

Any idea how that could have happened

That's a pretty old version of PG3.

PG3 can store multiple usernames/password combinations.   So if you simply added a new username/password, admin/admin would still exist as a valid combination.

ok - I've updated pg3.

through the ISY portal I can see that the ISY has all my devices/programs, but when I log into the admin console its empty.

I don't think that has anything to do with PG3.  You also upgraded the IoX firmware, did you read through the release notes for the various versions of firmware to see if there's something you're supposed to do either before or after upgrading?

In general, neither the PG3 update or the firmware updates should cause the Admin Console to stop working.  What version of Admin Console are you using (help -> about)?  If it's older than the firmware version, it may not work correctly.

You might need to clear the Java cache and/or get a new version of the IoX finder/launcher

confirming that I can't actually login...this is what I get when logging in.

from IOX finder

So the net issue is I can't login - is there a way to reset the password from the portal or somewhere else?

so - the last one was that I updated my password manager with a new password, and didn't change the admin console...so now all is good.  thanks all
