glacier991 Posted March 1 Posted March 1 (edited) As I have been spending more time here in the recent month(s) due to my "brand new" re- install and getting things up and running....coupled with some visits to the X-10 website which was kind of where my HA began.... I am seeing a lot of old "friends" Most of us are inro our 60's and 70's but the stories about our interest and history in HA are fun, fascination to varying degrees, and illuminating in terms of much of their commonality. I'd like to start a thread where folks can jump in, grab a cup of coffee or other libation, and share theirs. Sound good? Chris ps. If so I'll start. Edited March 2 by glacier991 1
Ross Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I bought the HA Yellow and added the ISY integration. However, I haven't done much other than look at the overly-complicated dashboard which lists every one of my 100+ Insteon/Yolink, etc. devices. I need to spend a day with a Getting Started Guide. @MrBill was a big HA user and a very helpful and prolific poster; however, he stopped posting several months ago (I hope he's well). 1
glacier991 Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 (edited) MrBill has been a valued resource, for sure. I would recommend you take specific HA questions to the Home Assistant forum here under Third Party Products. Folks here are happy to share and help! Also stay here and share a little about you and how you got here! Edited March 3 by glacier991
glacier991 Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 I would agree that the Device Dashboard can seen daunting, but careful dividing items into folder categories can be a big help. Instead of 100 devices you might have a dozen categories which can be expanded as needed. Or not.
firstone Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Just forget default dashboard and create your own. it's not that complicated once you get into it. You can split into areas/rooms. Within area you can have sub-area. 1
brians Posted March 10 Posted March 10 New sections view is also great for dashboards. It allows drag and drop finally. Experimental for now but will be enhanced in future.
