carealtor
What is the difference, if any, between "Restore Backup" and "Migrate from PG3 backup"? I just moved from Polisy to eisy and the instructions I was following (the wiki) said to use the migrate button and I mistakenly used the restore. Should I do anything to resolve this misstep? I have everything working again, so there doesn't seem to be any lasting issues from this that I can tell. Quote Link to comment
carealtor
Surprised that nobody knows the answer to this. Quote Link to comment
Techman
A restore would not transfer Zwave to the new controller, migrate does. If your Polisy is running a different firmware version than the Polisy, the Polisy firmware could be downgraded by using the ISY994 firmware which may not be compatible with the Polisy. There are probably additional factors, but these are two that come to mind. 1 Quote Link to comment
carealtor
So, it sounds like there would be no difference in my case because I only have Insteon and no Zwave. Quote Link to comment

I don't see an issue with this. I did an upgrade from Polisy to eisy last weekend and restored a backup. The system was already using ZMatter on Polisy. I believe the migration was to convert from Zwave to ZMatter. 1 Quote Link to comment
