dbwarner5 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 (edited) Any ideas anyone? if I press the doorbell, all the ring / Alexa triggers fire, but this program will not. What is interesting to me is that in the Plugin there is NO variable for a DING, but yet it shows up in the program options. Am running the latest 1.2 production version of RING on fully updated EISY. Front Doorbell SD - [ID 0194][Parent 0104] If 'Ring Elk Front Door Doorbell' is switched Ding Then Run Program 'Doorbell Chimes and Actions LD' (If) Run Program 'Announce Front Doorbell LD' (If) Edited September 5 by dbwarner5
paulbates Posted September 6 Posted September 6 You probably tested it, but both "run" statements are calling "if"s, which both have to be true.. you'd get the same negative results either way. Does it work with a notification or beeping an insteon switch, or something, to verify? 1

I have a Ring Doorbell Pro and also don't have a "ding" in the plugin. I have the same 4 items you have, but there's no battery in the Doorbell Pro (the version I have anyway). It's hardwired, but shows a "battery mV". My "ding" programs works as expected (just tested). If you check the program summary tab are the 2 programs you're calling on running? As @paulbates points out above it's possible they're running, but false. Therefore, not running the "then" you expect. Last thing I would suggest is to be sure the "Remote Connection" is Configured AND Active on the ISY/UD portal page. I recall it flipping off many months ago and was the last thing I checked to get mine working again. Thankfully hasn't been an issue since that time (for me).
dbwarner5 Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 @paulbates @Geddy Yes, the called programs work as expected. No the main program still will not trigger. I have "updated" it, resaved it, Have alsochecked the Remote connection and reset it. Will just try to rewrite the program and see it that works. Top program stays false and does not register in the Summary tab with any time associated with it as running after several button pushes. So it's either the ring is not passing this information on to the PI, or the Eisy program is corrupt. The rest of the ring functions work as expected.
dbwarner5 Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 Re wrote the program. No change. No recognition of the DING
dbwarner5 Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 Just noticed now the Ring PI isnt working... need to restart it. 1

Wonder why it wasn't working/running? 26 minutes ago, dbwarner5 said: The rest of the ring functions work as expected. Wonder how this was happening if the plugin wasn't working. Do you mean outside of IoX things were functioning as expected? You mentioned that Alexa triggers were firing...do you have those setup outside of IoX/PG3 (i.e. Alexa direct Ring access - how however they call it..."works with Alexa")?
Solution dbwarner5 Posted September 6 Author Solution Posted September 6 Ok.. Solved.. Had too many moving pieces all at once. This week, changed from Polisy to Eisy. I think that broke the Remote connection that @geddy mentioned, but when I fixed that, I also had a major power unit failure on my rack, and that drove other connectivity issues thru my main switch / PGX and Eisy such that PGX wasn't working right. Thru router reboots, Eisy power cycle, rewriting the program, getting the portal working online correctly, combined with I think the last step of resetting the Remote Connection" is Configured AND Active in the PG3 section of the portal, its ALL WORKING AS EXPECTED! THANKS @Geddy am pretty sure I would have gotten around to the rest, but would not have checked that part. 1
