ZWave Dongle Not Responding ISY994

Hello -

After upgrading to version 5.3.4, my Z-Wave devices stopped responding to programs.  The Z-Wave menu in the Admin Console shows "Z-Wave dongle not responding" (see attachment).   

I've tried resetting the ISY multiple times which has not fixed the issue.  

Is there a way to recover/reset the dongle?    

I've asked for EISY for Christmas ; I'm hoping to recover my Z-wave coms long enough to hold me over until then...

Do you have the 300 or 500 series Zwave board in your ISY? The 300 series board is not supported by 5.3.4 firmware.

What firmware version were you running prior to updating to 5.3.4?

Thx for the response.   Unfortunaly, I read the 300 series support notice after I upgraded to 5.3.4. (Doh).  I confirmed I do have the 300 series (blue indicator light on the rear of the chassis).   I will verify previous load tonight.   Is the 500 series board upgrade still available, and is that a suggested path until I get to EISY?  Or are you suggesting downgrade path may be the better option?

Not from UD, since UD support for the ISY994 has ended. You can try to find one through ebay, but probably unlikely at this point. Some others might have listed ISY994 (with z-wave) availability in the forums, but that too might be dated.

Depends how soon you might get an eisy. UD is currently offering a discount if you read their latest news on the site to get the code.

If what you had was working then yes, downgrade back to the version you had previously. I think 5.0.16c was the last 300 series version; the later versions of 5.3.x for the ISY994 only supported the 500 series board.

UD no longer sells the 500 board. It's possible that a forum member may have one to sell.

Not sure if you can downgrade the ISY firmware without creating issues. Maybe a forum member may have the answer.

Hopefully you have current Zwave and ISY backups made prior to udating to 5,3,4

Yes I've done a downgrade from 5.3.4 to 5.0.16c, and it worked.

I had no previous issues that prompted my upgrade, just hygiene.   Everything was working fine .

I can give the downgrade a try. 

Hope Santa comes through with my new EISY....
