IoX Launcher admin consol (LAN) not able to make thermostat changes

Earlier this month (November 2024) I finally migrated both of my 994 units to eISY, with that I had to update to the latest IoX Launcher, since then I have been unable to make any changes to my 2441TH and 2441ZTH Insteon thermostat units through the IoX Launcher admin console (LAN).  I did a full clear of the java cache when I updated IoX Launcher and everything else appears to functioning properly.

The eISY units both have firmware 5.8.4 on them.

I have some program automatons that modify thermostat settings on each device based on time of day and heat/cold settings and that is working just fine. Making changes via UD mobile works just fine. Making changes via the Home Assistant integration works just fine.  The only thing that is not working is the IoX Launcher admin console (LAN) interface.  When I make a change via the admin console it looks ok but when I click to another device and then back to the thermostat device the settings revert, or the next time the thermostat reports in and updates the settings revert.  If any changes are made through other means the changes update properly in real time in the admin console.

I believe this is only an issue with the IoX Launcher (LAN) interface as making any changes through other means all work.  It is almost as if the admin console is not sending updates/changes to these thermostat devices, even if I click on the "write changes" button after making any changes the changes are not actually made on the thermostat devices.

What setting(s) are you trying to change? For example if you change the heat setpoint, do you then click on the "Heat Setpoint" button left of the edit field? The fact that those are buttons (and not just labels) isn't always obvious.

"Write changes" is usually for parameter or configuration (option) changes, not regular things like setpoints.

Here is a screenshot of the fields (circled in red) that are not working.  No mater how many times I change any of them through the admin console the actual devices never receive the update.  I am not clicking on the "buttons" to the left that are just titles... I am only making changes through those drop downs.  I know write changes is typically for more behind the scenes kind of stuff, but in the past when I have had a device that had a weak connection to the PLM due to distance some times using the write changes button would help force the changes to the device.  In these cases though there are no distance issues and on this "network" ONLY these 2 types of Insteaon thermostats are having issues with taking changes through the admin console.

This problem only came up after updating to the latest IoX Launcher.  One of my eISY devices was bricked from the start so I had to continue to use the 994 till a replacement came in.  I had already updated IoX Launcher and noticed this problem started even while using the same old 994 that had been in use for the last 8 years.  I waited to make this post till a functioning eISY came in to replace the 994 just to make sure there wasn't some goofy versioning issue going on between IoX Launcher and the 994 as I was running a fairly old firmware on the 994.

Well try clicking on them to send your changes after choosing your values. That's how I do it, as indicated in my first post.

Interesting, I had read your first post differently last night (goes to show how much a little sleep can help).  That looks to be doing the trick.  I've never had to commit changes that way in the past, they use to push instantly when a drop down value was changed.

I guess that solves that problem. 😅  Thanks for the help!

Some aspects of the admin console aren't always intuitive.

...and the admin console has changed in many ways.

. . . . "Please listen carefully to the menu options as they may have changed recently". :)

It's like the supermarket. Just when you pretty well have the layout of the whole store figured out and know where to get things, they rearrange the store.

Yeah, and we have reprinted our 2,487 page manual but 287 items have changed and it is out of date now.

Its a different world now. Not like the good ol' days. :)
