See when a device was last triggered

Is there a way to see when a device was last turned on?

I have a Lamplinc that for some reason turns on in the middle of the night.

I cant see it in any timers etc. I was thinking if I could see when it clicked on I could have a better time isolating the issue.

Yes, if you go to Tools --> Log, it will download a log in Excel of all recent activity with timestamps. Additionally, I like to go to Programs, and right click on the top folder "My Programs" and left click on "copy folder to clipboard". Then paste in a word processor and search for the name of your lamplinc device. It will lead you to all programs that device belongs to, which should help troubleshooting.

Hi Greg. Thanks for the tips. I tried both but I still don't see why the Lamplinc is triggering in the middle of the night.

I'm wondering if it's an old program it still remembers. Is there a way to make sure theres no obsolete programming actually stored in the Lamplinc?

(if thats even possible)

Switches and modules don't store programs. They only have links to other devices, including a PLM that can be used by a device like the eisy to do things. A hub could also store scheduled events.

You can do a factory reset on the device. Delete it from the ISY, then physically unplug it. While holding down the bottom button on the lamplinc, plug it back in to power. There will be a solid tone sound. After the tone stops, you can let go of the button, then add it back to your ISY like before.

It could be noise happening with the query program. I might try moving it to a different circuit for a few nights to see if it still comes on. If it doesn't then there might be noise on the original circuit. Remember noise isn't always from something "new" it could be something old that's failing or impacted by yet another item that's introduced noise into the system.

Are you running the Query All program that used to come set by default? Many have added it to Polisy/eisy devices (I know I have). The default program was set to run at 3am (if I recall).

I like thought @gregkinney gave about copying programs to a text file to search for the device, but the program tab has a find option that you can look for devices, raw text, and other options (just FYI).

Query All program: (I offset mine to 10 seconds after 3am just because)

If
        Time is  3:00:10AM

Then
        Set 'ISY' Query

Else
   - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Last consideration might be to leave the event viewer open and set to level 3 and copy that to a text doc to search for the device...just know that will have a lot of data and could cause other issues. It might just give you what the other log(s) gave you. If there's not a command actually triggering that device then either the device is failing or it's a noise issue causing it to come on randomly.

Does it come on at any other time without being triggered?
