Insteon traffic too high?

I will start with the symptom, then comment on some recent issues below:

Symptom.  When I use my remote wireless switch to turn on a scene, it works, but if I turn it on and off several times, the switch will blink red like there is insteon (or maybe other ) traffic, and the switch will no longer control the scene.  When is stops blinking, the last setting works and switch works as normal.  Why is this important as not real use case, well I am debugging to see if I still have issues , after the following.

·        I recently had solar and powerwall 3s installed and had several lights on dimmers that were blinking

·        I determined that the lights that were blinking were all on the same circuit, so I replaced the circuit breaker and things got MUCH better

·        I had a lamplink go bad and it was sending out insteon traffic, that lamplink is now removed

·        I still have one dimmer that slightly flicker on low level setting (controls under cabinet LED strip).

So, I am just seeing if I still have problems.  Maybe having the switch blink red if there are a lot of subsequent presses is typical, but I don’t seem to remember that before all of this occurred, but I may be wrong and this may be typical

Sounds more like a noise issue than actual Insteon traffic. The blinking and delayed response might be caused by retries.

well I would agree except it always works first couple of times, just subseqeunt trys, and the led light startsblinking, then no longer works.  I always assumed that the red blinking light meant traffic, but not sure

Well retries are also traffic...that shouldn't be happening. Don't let the robustness of the protocol lull you into a sense of overconfidence. If it's all happening on one electrical circuit, then that's already a big hint and starting point. How many Insteon devices and other things do you have on that circuit? I would try disconnecting the easiest devices first and test it again. It's not fun, but there are only so many ways of finding the problem.

Start iox and turn on the event viewer level 3... And try to be in view of it. Repeat you tests while watching the event viewer.. how many entries show up per switch action... First time vs against presses

Flashing Red is normally an indication that a controller can't communicate with a scene responder. 

Depending on the size of a scene, it can take significant time for the controller to send cleanup messages to each scene responder.  If retries are required, the time grows longer still.

Additional button presses while the controller is attempting to executing cleanup communication will likely result in the controller abandoning the activity.  This could also result in the controller "flashing" an error.

Many have seem issues after installing Tesla powerwall 3. Was trying to figure out how to get these issues go away. I suggest you look at this link and see if you could add any additional information regarding this and share it with the rest of us.

Yes I was going to give an in depth description of my experience when all issues are determined, but can briefly say I found a faulty circuit breaker as a prime issue
